𝗪𝗛𝗬 𝗠𝗔𝗡𝗬 𝗥𝗘𝗝𝗘𝗖𝗧 𝗥𝗜𝗚𝗛𝗧𝗟𝗬 𝗗𝗜𝗩𝗜𝗗𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗪𝗢𝗥𝗗?

𝗪𝗛𝗬 𝗠𝗔𝗡𝗬 𝗥𝗘𝗝𝗘𝗖𝗧 𝗥𝗜𝗚𝗛𝗧𝗟𝗬 𝗗𝗜𝗩𝗜𝗗𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗪𝗢𝗥𝗗?

(2 Timothy 2:15)

𝐈𝐍𝐓𝐑𝐎𝐃𝐔𝐂𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍:

Many today profess to love the Bible, yet few believe it the way God commands us to study it. Paul’s instruction in 2 Timothy 2:15 — “Rightly dividing the word of truth” — is not optional; it is a divine command. Yet, when this truth is preached, resistance rises. People love religion more than revelation, tradition more than truth, and comfort more than correction.

In this preaching, we will uncover seven reasons why many reject rightly dividing the Word of Truth, seen through the dispensational lens of grace revealed to the Apostle Paul.

𝗜𝗚𝗡𝗢𝗥𝗔𝗡𝗖𝗘 𝗢𝗙 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗦𝗖𝗥𝗜𝗣𝗧𝗨𝗥𝗘𝗦

Many reject right division simply because they do not know the Word of God.

A. Blind to the Blueprint — (Matthew 22:29)

> “Ye do err, not knowing the scriptures...”
They study devotionally but not dispensationally.

B. Bound by Tradition — (Mark 7:13)

> “Making the word of God of none effect through your tradition.”
Religion replaces revelation.

C. Buried under Confusion — (1 Corinthians 14:33)

> “God is not the author of confusion.”
Without division, confusion reigns in doctrine.

𝗜𝗡𝗙𝗟𝗨𝗘𝗡𝗖𝗘 𝗢𝗙 𝗥𝗘𝗟𝗜𝗚𝗜𝗢𝗨𝗦 𝗦𝗬𝗦𝗧𝗘𝗠𝗦

The religious world thrives on control, not clarity.

A. Power over People — (Galatians 4:17)

> “They zealously affect you, but not well...”
Religious systems enslave through false authority.

B. Profit in the Pulpit — (2 Peter 2:3)

> “Through covetousness shall they with feigned words make merchandise of you.”
Truth threatens their income.

C. Pride in Position — (3 John 1:9)

> “Diotrephes, who loveth to have the preeminence...”
Men love titles more than truth.

𝗜𝗡𝗔𝗕𝗜𝗟𝗜𝗧𝗬 𝗧𝗢 𝗗𝗜𝗦𝗧𝗜𝗡𝗚𝗨𝗜𝗦𝗛 𝗗𝗜𝗦𝗣𝗘𝗡𝗦𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡𝗦

They mix Israel’s prophetic program with the Body’s mystery program.

A. Confusing the Covenants — (Romans 9:4)

> The covenants belong to Israel, not the Church.

B. Combining Law with Grace — (Galatians 5:4)

> “Ye are fallen from grace.”
Blending programs breaks the blessing.

C. Crossing Prophecy with Mystery — (Ephesians 3:3–5)

> The mystery was “hid in God,” not in the prophets.

𝗜𝗡𝗗𝗜𝗙𝗙𝗘𝗥𝗘𝗡𝗖𝗘 𝗧𝗢 𝗔𝗣𝗢𝗦𝗧𝗟𝗘 𝗣𝗔𝗨𝗟’𝗦 𝗔𝗨𝗧𝗛𝗢𝗥𝗜𝗧𝗬

Many ignore the unique apostleship of Paul to the Body of Christ.

A. Despising the Designated Apostle — (1 Timothy 2:7)

> “I am ordained a preacher, and an apostle...”
Paul’s office is ignored in modern preaching.

B. Denying the Distinct Gospel — (Galatians 1:11–12)

> “The gospel which was preached of me is not after man.”
They reject Paul’s gospel of grace.

C. Distorting the Doctrine of Grace — (Romans 16:25)

> “My gospel... according to the revelation of the mystery.”
They preach kingdom truth instead of mystery truth.

𝗜𝗡𝗜𝗤𝗨𝗜𝗧𝗬 𝗢𝗙 𝗛𝗨𝗠𝗔𝗡 𝗣𝗥𝗜𝗗𝗘

Pride is the poison that keeps men from truth.

A. Self-Elevation — (Romans 12:3)

> “Not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think.”

B. Stubborn Ego — (Proverbs 16:18)

> “Pride goeth before destruction.”

C. Spiritual Arrogance — (1 Corinthians 8:2)

> “If any man think that he knoweth any thing, he knoweth nothing yet.”

𝗜𝗡𝗙𝗜𝗟𝗧𝗥𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡 𝗢𝗙 𝗦𝗔𝗧𝗔𝗡𝗜𝗖 𝗗𝗘𝗖𝗘𝗣𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡

Satan’s greatest weapon is confusion in Scripture.

A. Masquerading Ministers — (2 Corinthians 11:13–15)

> “Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.”
False preachers appear biblical but deny Paul’s truth.

B. Misusing the Manuscript — (Genesis 3:1)

> “Yea, hath God said?”
The same old question undermines God’s revelation.

C. Misdirecting the Masses — (2 Timothy 4:3–4)

> “They shall turn away their ears from the truth.”

𝗜𝗡𝗦𝗨𝗙𝗙𝗜𝗖𝗜𝗘𝗡𝗖𝗬 𝗢𝗙 𝗦𝗣𝗜𝗥𝗜𝗧𝗨𝗔𝗟 𝗠𝗔𝗧𝗨𝗥𝗜𝗧𝗬

Right division demands spiritual growth and humility.

A. Carnal Christianity — (1 Corinthians 3:1–3)

> “I could not speak unto you as unto spiritual...”

B. Childish Understanding — (Ephesians 4:14)

> “Tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine.”

C. Closed-Minded Attitude — (Acts 17:11)

> The Bereans “searched the scriptures daily” — not so today.

𝐂𝐎𝐍𝐂𝐋𝐔𝐒𝐈𝐎𝐍:

Rightly dividing the Word is not a new doctrine — it is the biblical key to understanding God’s progressive revelation. Those who reject it choose confusion over clarity, religion over revelation, and tradition over truth.

God is not speaking to Israel today under law, but to the Body of Christ under grace. We must rightly divide, not wrongly mix.

𝐂𝐀𝐋𝐋 𝐓𝐎 𝐀𝐂𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍:

Let us:

Study the Word with precision (2 Tim. 2:15)

Stand for the mystery gospel (Rom. 16:25)

Share the truth boldly, even when resisted (2 Tim. 4:2)

Don’t be like the man in the cartoon plugging his ears — be a Berean who opens the Book!

𝐅𝐈𝐍𝐀𝐋 𝐓𝐇𝐎𝐔𝐆𝐇𝐓𝐒:

Ignorance breeds error — knowledge brings liberty.
Religion blinds — revelation enlightens.
Pride resists truth — humility receives it.
Satan confuses — Scripture clarifies.
Right division honors God’s order — wrong division causes disorder.
Only grace reveals the full truth for this dispensation.
Those who rightly divide will stand approved before Christ!
