WHO HAS THE FINAL AUTHORITYβ€”THE CHURCH OR THE WORD OF GOD?

Matthew 15:6; 2 Timothy 3:16–17; Colossians 2:8 (KJV)

INTRODUCTION

From the beginning, the battle has always been about authority. Did God really say? (Genesis 3:1). In every age, men have attempted to elevate tradition, institutions, and leaders above the written Word of God. In the Dispensation of Grace, God has settled the matterβ€”Scripture alone is the final authority for faith and practice, rightly divided (2 Timothy 2:15).

The Church does not judge the Bible; the Bible judges the Church.
