WHEN PEOPLE DON’T WANT THE TRUTH

(Seeing, Hearing, Speaking β€” Yet Rejecting God’s Word)

Hosea 4:6 (KJV)
Dispensational Truth: Truth rejected leads to spiritual destruction; today, truth is found in Paul’s gospel rightly divided (2 Timothy 2:15)

INTRODUCTION

In every age, God has revealed truthβ€”and in every age, people have resisted it.
The image before us shows deliberate rejection:
See no truth
Hear no truth
Speak no truth

In this Dispensation of Grace, rejecting truth is not ignoranceβ€”it is willful resistance to God’s revealed Word through the Apostle Paul.

β€œEver learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.” β€” 2 Timothy 3:7

DELIBERATE BLINDNESS
2 Corinthians 4:3–4

A. Chosen Darkness – Light is offered but refused
B. Clouded Discernment – Satan blinds minds, not eyes
C. Conscious Dismissal – Truth is seen but denied
Dispensational Insight:
The gospel is clear, but unbelief is voluntary, not accidental.

DEAFENED EARS
2 Timothy 4:3–4

A. Preference for Pleasure – Truth confronts, lies comfort
B. Piling of Teachers – Voices replace Scripture
C. Turning from Truth – Not ignorance, but rejection
Dispensational Insight:
Church-age apostasy is marked by sound doctrine being rejected, not absent.

DECEPTIVE SPEECH
Romans 1:25

A. Truth Exchanged – God’s truth traded for lies
B. Language Corrupted – Sin is renamed and softened
C. Testimony Twisted – False gospels promoted
Dispensational Insight:
False speech thrives when Pauline truth is ignored.

DESPISED KNOWLEDGE

Hosea 4:6

A. Knowledge Rejected – Not unavailable, but unwanted
B. Consequences Revealed – Destruction follows rejection
C. Responsibility Assigned – Accountability increases with light
Dispensational Insight:
Grace does not remove responsibilityβ€”it magnifies accountability.

DISREGARDED RIGHT DIVISION
2 Timothy 2:15

A. Scripture Confused – Mixing law, kingdom, and grace
B. Gospel Distorted – Faith plus works replaces faith alone
C. Believers Misdirected – Living under doctrines not written to them
Dispensational Insight:
Truth must be rightly divided, not merely quoted.

DENIAL OF PAUL’S GOSPEL
1 Corinthians 15:1–4

A. Christ’s Finished Work Ignored
B. Resurrection Minimized
C. Grace Replaced with Effort
Dispensational Insight:
Today’s saving message is Christ’s death, burial, and resurrectionβ€”believed, not worked for.

DEFENSIVE PRIDE

Romans 10:3

A. Self-Righteousness – Trusting morality
B. Spiritual Arrogance – Refusing correction
C. Submission Rejected – God’s righteousness refused
Dispensational Insight:
Pride keeps men religiousβ€”but lost.

DARKENED WALK
Ephesians 4:17–18

A. Vanity of Mind – Empty thinking
B. Alienation from Life – Spiritual separation
C. Hardened Hearts – Repeated rejection dulls conviction
Dispensational Insight:
Rejecting truth eventually removes sensitivity to truth.

DIVINE WARNING
2 Thessalonians 2:10–12

A. Love of Truth Refused
B. Strong Delusion Sent
C. Judgment Justified
Dispensational Insight:
Grace rejected leads to delusion embraced.

CONCLUSION

Truth is not hidden.
Truth is not unclear.
Truth is not complicated.
The real issue is the will.
Some will not see it
Some will not hear it
Some will not speak it

β€œBut we are not of them who draw back unto perdition; but of them that believe to the saving of the soul.” β€” Hebrews 10:39

CALL TO ACTION

Receive the truth β€” 1 Corinthians 15:1–4
Rightly divide the Word β€” 2 Timothy 2:15
Reject compromise β€” Galatians 1:6–9
Proclaim grace β€” Ephesians 3:1–9
Don’t silence the truth. Stand in it.
