"Wherefore remember, that ye being in time past Gentiles in the flesh, who are called Uncircumcision by that which is called the Circumcision in the flesh made by hands;
That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world:
But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ.
For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us;
Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace;
And that he might reconcile both unto God in one body by the cross, having slain the enmity thereby:" -
(Ephesians 2:11โ16, KJV)

In the Old Testament, God worked through Israel as His chosen nation, giving them covenants, promises, and the Law. Gentiles were โaliens from the commonwealth of Israelโ (Eph. 2:12). This separation was symbolized in the temple by the middle wall of partition, warning Gentiles to stay out. But now, through the cross, that wall has been broken down. In the Body of Christ, there is no distinction. Jew and Gentile are reconciled into one new man. Let us explore what this means today in the dispensation of grace.

The wall symbolized the separation between Jew and Gentile under the Law (Eph. 2:14).

Gentiles were outsiders โ strangers, without hope, without God (Eph. 2:12).

Israel had the covenants, promises, and access to Godโs blessings (Rom. 9:4โ5).

The Law served as a divider, keeping Israel distinct until the appointed time (Gal. 3:19,24).

It fostered enmity, distance, and alienation between Jew and Gentile.

Christ โis our peaceโ โ His cross broke down the dividing wall (Eph. 2:14โ16).

Both Jew and Gentile are reconciled โin one body by the crossโ (Eph. 2:16).

Paul, the apostle of the Gentiles, revealed the mystery of Jew and Gentile in one Body (Rom. 11:13; Eph. 3:1โ6).
๐ฃ๐ฅ๐ข๐๐ฅ๐๐ ๐ข๐ ๐๐ฅ๐๐๐
Today, God deals with all people equally in the Body of Christ (Gal. 3:28; Col. 3:11).
๐ฃ๐ฅ๐ข๐ ๐๐ฆ๐ ๐ข๐ ๐๐๐๐๐ฆ๐ฆ
Now we both have access by one Spirit unto the Father (Eph. 2:18). No temple wall, no distinction.
๐ฃ๐ข๐ช๐๐ฅ ๐ข๐ ๐จ๐ก๐๐ง๐ฌ
Believers today are to live out that oneness, showing love and equality in Christ (1 Cor. 12:13).

In the Body of Christ, all are joint-heirs, awaiting the blessed hope of the PreTribulation Rapture (1 Corinthians 15:50-58; 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18; Rom. 8:17; Titus 2:13).

The middle wall of partition once kept Gentiles away, but in Christ, the wall is gone. The cross didnโt just save us from sin โ it saved us from separation. Jew and Gentile now stand together in the Body of Christ, equal, reconciled, and awaiting glory.
