THE MIND OF LUCIFER vs. THE MIND OF CHRIST

(A Pauline Contrast for the Body of Christ)

“For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ.”

INTRODUCTION

Spiritual warfare is not first fought in behavior—it is
fought in the mind.

The Bible reveals two opposing mindsets:
The Mind of Lucifer — rooted in pride, rebellion, and self-exaltation.
The Mind of Christ — revealed through Paul, rooted in humility, obedience, and grace.

Dispensational truth teaches that the Body of Christ has been given Christ’s mind, not Lucifer’s ambition (Romans–Philemon).

Today we will RIGHTLY DIVIDE these two minds through 9 Pauline contrasts.

DOMINION vs. DEPENDENCE
Isaiah 14:13–14; Philippians 2:6–7

Lucifer’s Mind – DOMINION
A. “I will exalt my throne” — self-rule
B. Seeks control over others
C. Refuses submission

Christ’s Mind – DEPENDENCE
A. “Took upon him the form of a servant”
B. Chose reliance on the Father
C. Modeled submission, not domination
Dispensational Insight:
The Church is called to walk by grace, not seize authority.

EXALTATION vs. EMPTYING
Isaiah 14:14; Philippians 2:7

Lucifer’s Mind – EXALTATION
A. Self-promotion
B. Pride-driven ambition
C. Desire to be seen

Christ’s Mind – EMPTYING
A. Laid aside heavenly glory
B. Chose humility
C. Accepted the cross
Pauline Truth:
Grace flows downward, not upward (James 4:6).

REBELLION vs. RELIANCE
Ezekiel 28:17; Galatians 2:20

Lucifer’s Mind – REBELLION
A. Rejects God’s authority
B. Trusts self-wisdom
C. Resists God’s will

Christ’s Mind – RELIANCE
A. “Not I, but Christ liveth in me”

Body of Christ Application:
Our life operates by faith in Christ, not independence.

HONOR-SEEKING vs. SACRIFICE

Christ’s Mind – SACRIFICE
A. Offered Himself

Grace ministry is giving, not gaining.

PRIDE vs. POVERTY OF SPIRIT

Lucifer’s Mind – PRIDE
A. Inflated self-image

Christ’s Mind – POVERTY
A. “Though he was rich, yet… became poor”

Spiritual riches come through humility.

POWER vs. SERVICE

A. Seeks authority

A. Calls believers to serve

Dispensational Walk:
Liberty in Christ is for service, not self-rule.

SELF-WILL vs. SUBMISSION

Lucifer’s Mind – SELF-WILL
A. “I will” attitude

Christ’s Mind – SUBMISSION

Lucifer’s Mind – CORRUPTION

We are being changed into His image.

PERDITION vs. PERFECTION

Lucifer’s Mind – PERDITION
A. Ends in judgment
B. Leads to loss
C. Condemns souls

Christ’s Mind – PERFECTION
A. “Complete in Him”
B. Eternal security
C. Glorified future
Grace Assurance:
The believer’s destiny is secure and complete in Christ.

CONCLUSION

There are only two minds operating in the universe:
One says: “I will exalt myself.”
The other says: “Not my will, but Thine.”
Dispensational truth declares: The Body of

Christ has been given the MIND OF CHRIST.
We are not called to rule now—but to walk humbly in grace until glory.
