THE GOSPEL — PURE OR PERVERTED?

“Grace Mixed with Works Is No Longer Grace”
Galatians 1:6–9 • Romans 11:6 • 1 Corinthians 15:1–4 (KJV)

INTRODUCTION

In every age, Satan’s primary attack is not outright denial of Christ, but distortion of the Gospel.
A perverted gospel looks close to the truth, sounds spiritual, and appeals to religious flesh—but it robs Christ of His finished work.

Paul warns us plainly: There is only ONE gospel that saves (Gal. 1:8–9).

Anything added to grace is no longer grace at all.
Today, we ask the vital question:
Is the gospel you believe PURE or PERVERTED?

①DISTINGUISH THE MESSAGE
Galatians 1:6–7
Explanation:
Not all “gospels” are God’s gospel.

Different Message – “another gospel” is not good news at all
Deceptive Message – sounds biblical but alters grace
Dangerous Message – removes confidence from Christ
Similar is not the same as saving.

②DETECT THE MIXTURE
Romans 11:6
Explanation:
Grace and works cannot coexist as a means of salvation.

Grace + Works = Corruption
Faith + Performance = Perverted Gospel
Christ + Requirements = Christ Denied
If works enter, grace exits.

③DENOUNCE THE ADDITIONS
Colossians 2:8
Explanation:
Religion loves to add “extras” to salvation.

Rituals Added – baptism, sacraments, ceremonies
Rules Added – law-keeping, commandments for salvation
Requirements Added – endurance, obedience to stay saved
Anything added subtracts from Christ.

④DECLARE THE FINISHED WORK
John 19:30
Explanation:
Jesus did not make salvation possible—He completed it.

Payment Finished – sin fully paid
Prophecy Fulfilled – redemption accomplished
Performance Ended – no human effort required
Salvation rests, not strives.

⑤DEFINE THE TRUE GOSPEL
1 Corinthians 15:1–4
Explanation:
Paul clearly defines the saving gospel.

Christ DIED for our sins
Christ was BURIED
Christ ROSE AGAIN the third day
Believe this—and this alone—for salvation.

⑥DEFEND PAUL’S STEWARDSHIP
Galatians 2:7
Explanation:
God revealed the Gospel of Grace uniquely to Paul.

Revelation from Heaven – Gal. 1:11–12
Distinct Commission – to the Gentiles
Dispensational Truth – for this present age
Mixing programs causes confusion.

⑦DENY COUNTERFEIT GOSPELS
2 Corinthians 11:4
Explanation:
False gospels often sound “Christian.”

Another Jesus – moral teacher, not Savior
Another Spirit – emotional experience
Another Gospel – faith plus works
Counterfeit truth still damns.

⑧DELIVER THE MESSAGE CLEARLY
2 Timothy 2:15
Explanation:
Truth must be rightly divided to be rightly understood.

Kingdom vs Grace
Israel vs Body of Christ
Law vs Liberty
Right division preserves pure doctrine.

⑨DECIDE WHERE YOU STAND
Galatians 5:1
Explanation:
Every person must choose.

Stand in Grace
Reject Religious Bondage
Rest in Christ Alone
You cannot stand in both grace and works.

CONCLUSION

There are not two saving gospels.
There are not many paths to salvation.
There is ONE gospel today, and it is pure grace through Christ alone.
A gospel mixed with works is no gospel at all.
A gospel altered is a gospel cursed.

CALL TO ACTION

Examine what you believe
Reject grace-plus teaching
Trust Christ alone
Proclaim the pure gospel boldly

“But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel… let him be accursed.” – Gal. 1:8

Grace is not improved by works
Works do not prove salvation
Christ finished everything
Faith rests, it does not perform
Religion glorifies man
Grace glorifies Christ
Counterfeit gospels deceive millions
Paul’s gospel is for today
Grace mixed with works is NO LONGER grace
