THE BLOOD ON THE DOORPOSTS
(Salvation Is Not About Worthiness β It Is About the Blood)
Exodus 12:13; Romans 3:24β25
INTRODUCTION
From Egypt to Calvary, God has never saved people by examining their character, conduct, or credentialsβHe saves by covering them with blood.
In Exodus 12, God did not inspect who was inside the house.
He looked for the blood on the doorposts.
That event was typical, temporary, and propheticβpointing forward to Christβs finished work, now revealed fully through Paul in this Dispensation of Grace (Ephesians 3:2).
Today we will see 9 BLOOD-BASED TRUTHS that show salvation has never been about human worthinessβbut always about Godβs provision.
BLOOD REQUIRED
Exodus 12:7, 13
A. God demanded blood, not behavior
Obedience did not cancel judgmentβblood did.
B. No blood meant no protection
Sincerity without blood still brought death.
C. Blood was Godβs stated condition
Salvation was on Godβs terms, not manβs feelings.
Dispensational Insight:
God begins redemption with substitution, not self-reform.
BLOOD REVEALED
Hebrews 9:22
A. Sin demands death
Without blood, there is no remission.
B. Blood reveals the cost of sin
Grace is free to us, costly to God.
C. Blood exposes manβs helplessness
No blood, no escapeβno exceptions.
Dispensational Insight:
The Law exposes sin; blood answers it.
BLOOD RECOGNIZED
Exodus 12:13
A. God said, βWhen I SEE the bloodβ
Not when He sees faithfulness, effort, or goodness.
B. Blood was outward and visible
Salvation was not hidden, mystical, or internal only.
C. Blood marked divine ownership
That house belonged to God.
Dispensational Insight:
God responds to what He sees, not what we claim.

A. Christ became our Passover
The lamb pointed to the Lord.
B. One sacrifice replaced many lambs
The shadow gave way to substance.
C. Temporary blood gave way to eternal blood
Christβs blood never needs repeating.
Dispensational Insight:
Israelβs lamb becomes the Churchβs Lord.

Romans 3:25
A. Christβs blood propitiated God
Godβs wrath was fully satisfied.
B. Sin was judged at the cross
Not postponedβpaid in full.
C. The believer stands justified
Declared righteous, not made worthy.
Dispensational Insight:
Justification is legal, complete, and final.
BLOOD REDEEMS
Ephesians 1:7
A. Redemption means purchased freedom
We were bought, not borrowed.
B. The price was blood, not gold
Heavenβs currency is crimson.
C. Redemption is present possession
βWe HAVE redemptionββnot hope for it.
Dispensational Insight:
Redemption is a current reality, not a future reward.
BLOOD RECKONS
Romans 5:9
A. God counts believers as righteous
Based solely on blood.
B. Judgment passes over the justified
Wrath cannot touch the blood-covered.
C. Salvation is settled, not suspended
No fear of condemnation.

The blood still speaks.
Dispensational Insight:
What saved us is what keeps us.
CONCLUSION
God never asked Israel,
βWho are you?β
βWhat have you done?β
βAre you worthy?β
He asked one question only:
βIs the blood applied?β
Today, God asks the sameβ
Not about religion.
Not about morality.
Not about church membership.
Only this:
Have you trusted the blood of Christ alone?
CALL TO ACTION
STOP trusting your goodness
STOP trusting your performance
START trusting Christβs finished work
Believe the gospel:
1 Corinthians 15:1β4
Christ died for our sins, was buried, and rose again.
FINAL THOUGHTS
Worthiness never saved anyone
Blood has always been Godβs answer
Grace is grounded in sacrifice
Faith applies what God provides
Assurance rests on Christ, not self
Salvation is settled forever
Judgment passes where blood is present
Grace reigns today
The blood still speaks
Only the blood of Jesus can cover us.
