THE BLOOD OF ANIMALS vs THE BLOOD OF CHRIST

(Shadow Religion vs. Saving Redemption β€” Rightly Divided)

Key Text: Hebrews 10:4; Romans 3:25
β€œFor it is not possible that the blood of bulls and of goats should take away sins.”
β€œWhom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood…”

INTRODUCTION

Throughout Scripture, blood is required for remission of sins (Hebrews 9:22). But not all blood accomplishes the same purpose.
Many fail to rightly divide the difference between temporary animal sacrifices under the Law and the once-for-all sacrifice of Christ under Grace.

Today we will clearly contrast THE BLOOD OF ANIMALS with THE BLOOD OF CHRIST, showing why only Christ’s blood saves, secures, and satisfies God forever.
2 Timothy 2:15 (KJV)

PROVISIONAL BLOOD (Animals) vs. PERFECT BLOOD (Christ)
Hebrews 10:1–4; 1 Peter 1:18–19

A. Temporary Covering – Animal blood covered sin, never removed it
B. Typical Shadows – Sacrifices pointed forward, not inward
C. Incomplete Cleansing – Conscience remained guilty
Dispensational Insight:
Animal blood was symbolic; Christ’s blood is sufficient.

REPEATED BLOODSHED vs. REDEEMING BLOODSHED
Hebrews 9:6–7; Hebrews 9:12

A. Daily Sacrifices – Priests labored continually
B. Annual Atonement – Yom Kippur repeated yearly
C. Never Finished – No β€œIt is finished” under Law
Christ entered once into the holy placeβ€”eternal redemption obtained.

EARTHLY BLOOD vs. ETERNAL BLOOD
Leviticus 17:11; Hebrews 9:14

A. Animal Life Only – Earth-bound life given
B. Mortal Offering – No eternal value
C. Temporal Effect – Worked only in time
Christ offered Himself through the eternal Spirit.

LEGAL BLOOD vs. LIBERATING BLOOD
Galatians 3:10–13; Romans 8:1

A. Law-Bound Sacrifice – Under commandments
B. Condemning Ministry – Sin constantly remembered
C. No Freedom – Guilt lingered
Christ’s blood removes condemnation for the Body of Christ.

COVERING BLOOD vs. CLEANSING BLOOD
Leviticus 16:15; Colossians 1:14

A. Sins Covered – Hebrew word kaphar = cover
B. Sins Remembered – Annual reminder
C. No Forgiveness Finalized
Christ’s blood remits, forgives, and blots out sins.

PRIEST-APPLIED BLOOD vs. PERSONALLY APPLIED BLOOD
Exodus 29:21; Romans 5:9

A. External Ritual – Applied by men
B. Physical Ceremony – Outward only
C. National Scope – Israel alone
Christ’s blood is applied by faith, personally, individually.

ALTAR BLOOD vs. ADVOCATE BLOOD
Hebrews 13:10; Romans 8:34

A. Earthly Altars – Physical locations
B. Human Priests – Mortal mediators
C. Limited Access – Veil remained
Christ’s blood speaks now in heaven for believers.

REMINDER BLOOD vs. REMOVING BLOOD
Hebrews 10:3; Ephesians 1:7
A. Reminder of Sin – Memory never erased
B. Guilt Retained – Fear of judgment
C. No Assurance
Christ’s blood secures redemption and assurance forever.

ISRAEL’S BLOOD SYSTEM vs. THE BODY OF CHRIST’S BLOOD SALVATION
Exodus 19:5–6; 1 Corinthians 15:1–4

A. Covenant with Israel – Conditional obedience
B. Earthly Kingdom Focus – Law & altar
C. Future Fulfillment
Christ’s blood saves the Church, the Body of Christ, by grace alone.

CONCLUSION

Animal blood could point, picture, and prepareβ€”
but only the blood of Christ can pardon, purify, and perfect.
No more sacrifices.
No more priests.
No more condemnation.
Hebrews 10:14
β€œFor by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified.”

CALL TO ACTION

Stop trusting religion
Start trusting redemption
Believe the GOSPEL:
1 Corinthians 15:1–4
Christ died for our sins
He was buried
He rose again
Trust the BLOOD that saves forever.

FINAL THOUGHTS

Religion spills blood repeatedly
Redemption rests in blood once shed
Don’t go back to shadowsβ€”stand in the substance.
The blood of Christ is ENOUGH.
