STANDING STRONG IN GOD’S ARMOR

(Equipped for Victory in the Dispensation of Grace)
Key Text: Ephesians 6:10–18 (KJV)

INTRODUCTION

Believers today are not called to fight flesh and blood, nor to earn victoryβ€”but to stand in a victory already secured by Christ.

In this Dispensation of Grace, God has provided spiritual armor, not rituals, works, or religious performance.
The armor is positional, doctrinal, and practical, revealed fully through the Apostle Paul.

Today we will examine 9 TRUTHS that show how the believer stands strong in God’s armor.

SECURED BY SALVATION
Ephesians 6:17a; Ephesians 2:8–9
Explanation:
The helmet of salvation protects the believer’s mind, reminding us that salvation is settled, not fragile.

A. Settled Gift – Salvation is received, not achieved (Eph. 2:8–9)
B. Sealed Believer – The Spirit secures us eternally (Eph. 1:13)
C. Sound Mind – Assurance guards against doubt and fear (2 Tim. 1:7)

RIGHTEOUS IN CHRIST
Ephesians 6:14a; 2 Corinthians 5:21
Explanation:
The breastplate is Christ’s righteousness, not ours.

A. Imputed Righteousness – Given at salvation (Rom. 4:5)
B. Immoveable Position – Not lost by failure (Rom. 8:1)
C. Internal Protection – Guards the heart from condemnation

TRUTHFULLY ESTABLISHED
Ephesians 6:14b; Colossians 1:25
Explanation:
Truth stabilizes the believer through right division.

A. Doctrinal Truth – The mystery revealed to Paul
B. Dividing Truth – Distinguishing Israel from the Body (2 Tim. 2:15)
C. Defended Truth – Error collapses without truth

FAITHFULLY SHIELDED
Ephesians 6:16; Romans 5:1
Explanation:
Faith extinguishes Satan’s accusations and lies.

A. Faith in Christ Alone – Not feelings or performance
B. Firm Confidence – Resting in finished redemption
C. Fiery Darts Quenched – Doubt, fear, guilt extinguished

READY WITH PEACE
Ephesians 6:15; Romans 5:1
Explanation:
The gospel of peace stabilizes our walk.

A. Peace with God – Reconciliation accomplished
B. Prepared Walk – Not anxious, but grounded
C. Proper Testimony – Peace reflects grace

SWORD-WIELDED SCRIPTURE
Ephesians 6:17b; 2 Timothy 3:16
Explanation:
The Word of God is our only offensive weapon.

A. Scriptural Authority – God’s Word above tradition
B. Sound Interpretation – Rightly divided truth
C. Spiritual Precision – Cuts error cleanly

STRONG THROUGH PRAYER
Ephesians 6:18; Philippians 4:6–7
Explanation:
Prayer is dependence, not demand.

A. Continual Prayer – Fellowship, not ritual
B. Confident Access – Through Christ alone
C. Calm Assurance – Peace guards the heart

SEPARATED FROM SATAN’S SYSTEM
2 Corinthians 2:11; Colossians 2:8
Explanation:
The believer must recognize Satan’s strategies.

A. Subtle Deception – Religious confusion
B. Systemic Corruption – Worldly wisdom
C. Spiritual Discernment – Truth exposes lies

STANDING, NOT STRIVING
Ephesians 6:13; Colossians 2:10
Explanation:
Victory is not achievedβ€”it is maintained by standing.

A. Completed in Christ – Nothing lacking
B. Continual Standing – Not retreating
C. Confident Endurance – Victory assured
