𝗣𝗨𝗧 𝗔𝗪𝗔𝗬 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗢𝗟𝗗 𝗠𝗔𝗡, 𝗪𝗔𝗟𝗞 𝗜𝗡 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗡𝗘𝗪 𝗠𝗔𝗡

𝗣𝗨𝗧 𝗔𝗪𝗔𝗬 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗢𝗟𝗗 𝗠𝗔𝗡, 𝗪𝗔𝗟𝗞 𝗜𝗡 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗡𝗘𝗪 𝗠𝗔𝗡

𝐈𝐍𝐓𝐑𝐎𝐃𝐔𝐂𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍

Every believer in the Age of Grace stands in a unique position revealed through the Apostle Paul: we are already new creatures in Christ (2 Cor. 5:17). Yet Paul commands us to put off the old man and put on the new (Eph. 4:22–24, Col. 3:9–10).

This is not a command to achieve salvation, but to align our walk with our new position. Dispensationally, the old man was crucified (Rom. 6:6), and the new man was created (Eph. 4:24).

So the Christian life is not self-improvement—it is identity realization.

𝟭. 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗖𝗥𝗨𝗖𝗜𝗙𝗜𝗘𝗗 𝗢𝗟𝗗 𝗠𝗔𝗡 (Romans 6:6)

A. Dead Positionally — The believer’s old man is crucified with Christ (Gal. 2:20).
B. Defeated Power — Sin’s dominion is broken (Rom. 6:14).
C. Done Permanently — A completed work, not a process (Col. 2:11).

𝟮. 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗖𝗥𝗘𝗔𝗧𝗘𝗗 𝗡𝗘𝗪 𝗠𝗔𝗡 (Ephesians 4:24)

A. Created in Righteousness — A new standing before God (2 Cor. 5:21).
B. Created in Renewal — A mind set on truth (Rom. 12:2).
C. Created in Relationship — United with Christ (1 Cor. 6:17).

𝟯. 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗖𝗔𝗟𝗟𝗘𝗗 𝗦𝗘𝗣𝗔𝗥𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡 𝗙𝗥𝗢𝗠 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗢𝗟𝗗 𝗪𝗔𝗬 (Ephesians 4:22)

A. Abandon Corruption — The old man is corrupt (Rom. 1:28–32).
B. Avoid Carnality — Carnal living contradicts our identity (1 Cor. 3:1–3).
C. Abide in Consecration — Set apart unto God (2 Tim. 2:21).

𝟰. 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗖𝗢𝗡𝗧𝗜𝗡𝗨𝗔𝗟 𝗥𝗘𝗡𝗘𝗪𝗔𝗟 𝗢𝗙 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗠𝗜𝗡𝗗 (Ephesians 4:23)

A. Renewed by Scripture — Let the Word transform thinking (Col. 3:16).
B. Refreshed by the Spirit — Walking by the Spirit (Gal. 5:16).
C. Redirected by Sound Doctrine — Paul’s epistles guide this age (2 Tim. 1:13).

𝟱. 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗖𝗢𝗡𝗧𝗥𝗔𝗦𝗧𝗘𝗗 𝗪𝗔𝗟𝗞 𝗢𝗙 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗕𝗘𝗟𝗜𝗘𝗩𝗘𝗥 (Galatians 5:25)

A. Walk Worthy — Reflect our calling (Eph. 4:1).
B. Walk Wisely — Watch our steps in a fallen world (Eph. 5:15).
C. Walk Worshipfully — Live in gratitude to God (Col. 2:6–7).

𝟲. 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗖𝗢𝗠𝗠𝗔𝗡𝗗𝗘𝗗 𝗣𝗨𝗧𝗧𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗢𝗡 𝗢𝗙 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗡𝗘𝗪 𝗠𝗔𝗡 (Colossians 3:10)

A. Put On Christlike Character — Compassion, kindness, humility (Col. 3:12).
B. Put On Christlike Conduct — Forgiving and forbearing (Col. 3:13).
C. Put On Christlike Commitment — Love above all (Col. 3:14).

𝟳. 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗖𝗛𝗥𝗜𝗦𝗧-𝗖𝗘𝗡𝗧𝗘𝗥𝗘𝗗 𝗠𝗢𝗧𝗜𝗩𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡 𝗙𝗢𝗥 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗡𝗘𝗪 𝗪𝗔𝗟𝗞 (2 Corinthians 5:14–15)

A. Motivated by His Love — His love constrains us (v. 14).
B. Motivated by His Life — We live unto Him (v. 15).
C. Motivated by His Lordship — Christ is our Head (Col. 1:18).

𝐂𝐎𝐍𝐂𝐋𝐔𝐒𝐈𝐎𝐍

The old man is crucified, the new man is created, and the believer is called to live out this new identity.
Walking in the new man is not about earning favor—it is about expressing who Christ has made us to be in this present dispensation of grace.

Surrender daily to the truth of your new identity.
Soak your mind in Scripture and sound doctrine.
Step forward in the new man and let Christ live through you.

𝐅𝐈𝐍𝐀𝐋 𝐓𝐇𝐎𝐔𝐆𝐇𝐓𝐒

The old man is finished—stop feeding what God has crucified.
The new man is formed—start living what God has created.
The Christian life is not “do more”—it’s “be who you already are in Christ.”
