OUR STANDING IN CHRIST

(After We Believe the Gospel)
1 Corinthians 15:1–4 (KJV)

INTRODUCTION

Many believers struggle with assurance because they confuse position with practice, and identity with performance. Rightly dividing the Word of Truth (2 Timothy 2:15) reveals that our standing in Christ is fixed, finished, and forever settled the moment we believe the Gospel of Grace.

This message answers one crucial question:
What is true of us IN CHRISTβ€”because of Christβ€”not because of us?

SAVED BY GRACE

Ephesians 2:8–9; Romans 3:24

A. Grace Initiated – Salvation is God’s work, not man’s effort
B. Grace Granted – Freely given, not earned
C. Grace Guaranteed – Not sustained by works
Dispensational Insight:
Grace is the governing principle of this present dispensation (Ephesians 3:2).

SECURED BY THE BLOOD
Colossians 1:14; Romans 5:9

A. Blood Purchased – Redemption accomplished
B. Blood Paid – Full satisfaction made
C. Blood Perfected – No further sacrifice needed
Dispensational Insight:
Christ’s once-for-all sacrifice replaces Israel’s continual offerings (Hebrews 10:10).

SINS FORGIVEN
Ephesians 1:7; Colossians 2:13

A. Past Forgiven – No record remains
B. Present Forgiven – Standing unchanged
C. Permanent Forgiveness – Not revoked by failure
Dispensational Insight:
Forgiveness is positional, not probationary, for the Body of Christ.

SET RIGHT BEFORE GOD
Romans 5:1; Romans 8:33

A. Justified Freely – Declared righteous
B. Justified Fully – Nothing lacking
C. Justified Finally – No appeal possible
Dispensational Insight:
Justification is a legal declaration based on Christ’s righteousness alone.

SHARED LIFE WITH CHRIST
Ephesians 2:5–6; Colossians 3:3

A. Raised With Him – New life given
B. Seated With Him – Heavenly position
C. Hidden In Him – Secure identity
Dispensational Insight:
Believers are spiritually seated in heavenly places nowβ€”not waiting for the kingdom.

SEPARATED FROM CONDEMNATION
Romans 8:1; Romans 8:34

A. No Legal Guilt – The case is closed
B. No Future Judgment – Wrath removed
C. No Fear Remaining – Peace established
Dispensational Insight:
Condemnation belongs to Adam; justification belongs to those in Christ.

SEALED BY THE SPIRIT
Ephesians 1:13–14; Ephesians 4:30

A. Seal Applied – At the moment of belief
B. Seal Protects – Cannot be broken
C. Seal Promises – Guaranteed inheritance
Dispensational Insight:
Spirit sealing is unique to the Body of Christβ€”Israel never had this assurance.

SONS AND HEIRS OF GOD
Romans 8:16–17; Galatians 4:6–7

A. Adoption Granted – Family status
B. Inheritance Assured – Eternal riches
C. Relationship Established – Abba, Father
Dispensational Insight:
We are sons by adoption, not servants under law.

SECURE FOREVER IN CHRIST

Romans 8:38–39; Colossians 2:10

A. Nothing Missing – Complete in Him
B. Nothing Lost – Eternal security
C. Nothing Can Separate – Everlasting love
Dispensational Insight:
Our standing is anchored in Christ, not in our consistency.

CONCLUSION

Our standing in Christ is:
Not fragile
Not temporary
Not performance-based
It is finished, fixed, and foreverβ€”because Christ finished the work.
β€œYe are complete in him…” (Colossians 2:10)

CALL TO ACTION

If you have never believed the Gospel of Grace, believe today:
Christ died for our sins

Christ rose again
1 Corinthians 15:1–4 (KJV)
If you are saved, stand firm:
Rest in grace
Walk in gratitude
Rejoice in assurance
