ONE LAST CHANCE WASTED

A Dispensational Warning from Eternity

INTRODUCTION

Luke 16 gives us the only passage where a man speaks from Hell. His voice is not fictional, not symbolic, and not allegorical—it is eternal testimony. In Hell there is memory, regret, desire, and no escape.

In the Dispensation of Grace, salvation is freely offered now—but once life ends, opportunity ends. While people in Hell crave one last chance, people on earth waste millions of chances.

① THE REALITY OF HELL

Luke 16:23

A. A Conscious Place – He lifted up his eyes. (Luke 16:23)

B. A Conscious Pain – Being in torments. (v.23)

C. A Conscious Person – Identity not erased. (v.25)

Hell is real, personal, and eternal.

② THE REMEMBRANCE IN HELL

Luke 16:25

A. Memory Preserved – “Remember…” (v.25)

B. Moments Recalled – Life reviewed eternally. (Eccl. 12:14)

C. Mercy Regretted – Grace rejected remembered. (Prov. 1:28)

Memory becomes torment.

③ THE REGRET OF LOST OPPORTUNITY

Hebrews 9:27

A. No Second Life – Appointed once to die. (Heb. 9:27)

B. No Second Chance – Judgment follows death. (Luke 16:26)

C. No Second Savior – Only Christ saves. (Acts 4:12)

Opportunity is limited to this life.

④ THE REQUEST FROM THE DAMNED

Luke 16:27–28

A. Plea for Witnessing – “Send him…” (v.27)

B. Passion for Warning – “Testify unto them.” (v.28)

C. Painful Awareness – He knows Hell is real. (v.28)

Hell believes in evangelism.

⑤ THE REFUSAL OF RELIEF

Luke 16:26

A. A Fixed Gulf – No crossing possible. (v.26)

B. A Final Sentence – No parole. (Rev. 20:15)

C. A Fearful Condition – Forever separated. (2 Thess. 1:9)

Eternity cannot be reversed.

⑥ THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE LIVING

2 Corinthians 6:2

A. Present Day of Salvation – “Now is…” (v.2)

B. Personal Decision Required – Choose today. (Josh. 24:15)

C. Procrastination Dangerous – Tomorrow promised to none. (Prov. 27:1)

Delay is a decision.

⑦ THE REVELATION GIVEN

Romans 2:4

A. Grace Extended – God is longsuffering. (Rom. 2:4)

B. Gospel Explained – Christ died and rose. (1 Cor. 15:3–4)

C. Gift Emphasized – Salvation is free. (Eph. 2:8–9)

Grace is not permission—it is provision.

⑧ THE REJECTION OF TRUTH

John 3:18

A. Belief Saves – He that believeth not condemned. (John 3:18)

B. Blindness Settles – Love darkness rather than light. (John 3:19)

C. Blood on Hands – Truth rejected willingly. (Acts 18:6)

Hell is populated by unbelief.

⑨ THE RIGHT RESPONSE TODAY

Ephesians 1:13

A. Believe the Gospel – Faith in Christ. (Eph 1:13)

B. Receive Salvation – Righteousness imputed. (Rom. 4:5)

C. Rejoice in Assurance – No condemnation. (Rom. 8:1)

One decision determines eternity.

CONCLUSION

People in Hell are not asking for pleasure, riches, or position—they are begging for one more chance. That chance is what you have right now.

Grace is available. The door is open.

But the door will not remain open forever.
