𝗜𝗡 𝗛𝗘𝗟𝗟 𝗧𝗛𝗘𝗥𝗘 𝗜𝗦 𝗡𝗢 𝗥𝗘𝗦𝗧 𝗜𝗡 𝗣𝗘𝗔𝗖𝗘

𝗜𝗡 𝗛𝗘𝗟𝗟 𝗧𝗛𝗘𝗥𝗘 𝗜𝗦 𝗡𝗢 𝗥𝗘𝗦𝗧 𝗜𝗡 𝗣𝗘𝗔𝗖𝗘

𝐈𝐍𝐓𝐑𝐎𝐃𝐔𝐂𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍: “THE GREAT DECEPTION OF FALSE PEACE”

Many today comfort themselves with the phrase, “Rest in peace,” spoken over the dead. Yet the Word of God tells us that there is no peace for the wicked (Isaiah 57:21). While the believer in Christ rests eternally in His presence, the unbeliever enters a place of conscious torment, not comfort.

From a dispensational standpoint, hell is not a parable or poetic symbol—it is a literal, temporary holding place for the unsaved dead, awaiting the final judgment at the Great White Throne (Revelation 20:11–15). Let’s study why there is no rest in peace in hell, and why God warns us urgently in this age of grace.

𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗥𝗘𝗔𝗟𝗜𝗧𝗬 𝗢𝗙 𝗛𝗘𝗟𝗟 — IT IS A PREPARED PLACE

Hell is not a myth; it is a prepared place for a rebellious people.
Matthew 25:41 — “...prepared for the devil and his angels.”

A. Its Creation — God did not originally make hell for man, but for Satan and his fallen angels (2 Peter 2:4).

B. Its Continuation — Because of sin, men share in Satan’s destiny (Romans 6:23).

C. Its Certainty — Jesus Himself preached more about hell than heaven (Mark 9:43–48).

Dispensational note: Under every dispensation—law, prophecy, and grace—hell remains a reality for unbelievers who reject God’s revealed truth for their age.

𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗥𝗘𝗦𝗜𝗗𝗘𝗡𝗖𝗘 𝗢𝗙 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗟𝗢𝗦𝗧 — A PLACE OF PAIN

Hell is the conscious, eternal residence of the unredeemed.
Luke 16:23–24 — “In hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments...”

A. The Fire that Burns — Literal fire that never quenches (Mark 9:48).

B. The Fear that Binds — The hopelessness of no escape (Revelation 14:11).

C. The Feeling that Baffles — Full awareness, remembrance, and regret (Luke 16:25).

Dispensational note: In the prophetic program, hell is under the earth; in the mystery program, it still functions as the temporary abode of the unsaved until the resurrection unto damnation.

𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗥𝗘𝗔𝗦𝗢𝗡 𝗙𝗢𝗥 𝗛𝗘𝗟𝗟 — REJECTION OF GOD’S REVELATION

Hell exists because men reject God’s light.
John 3:19–20 — “Men loved darkness rather than light...”

A. Rejection of the Creator — Romans 1:25, they worship the creature.

B. Rebellion against the Covenant — Israel refused God’s law and prophets.

C. Refusal of the Cross — In this dispensation, men reject Paul’s gospel of grace (Acts 20:24).

Dispensational note: The message of salvation differs by dispensation, but rejection of God’s truth in any age results in wrath.

𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗥𝗘𝗖𝗢𝗟𝗟𝗘𝗖𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡 𝗜𝗡 𝗛𝗘𝗟𝗟 — A MEMORY THAT MISERIES

Luke 16:25 — “Son, remember...”

A. Remembered Opportunities — Every gospel message rejected will echo forever.

B. Remembered Obligations — Every chance to repent now becomes eternal regret.

C. Remembered Offenses — Every sin unatoned cries out for judgment.

Dispensational note: Under grace, the unsaved will remember rejecting the free gift of salvation through faith alone (Ephesians 2:8–9).

𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗥𝗘𝗤𝗨𝗘𝗦𝗧 𝗙𝗥𝗢𝗠 𝗛𝗘𝗟𝗟 — A DESIRE DENIED

Luke 16:27–28 — The rich man begged for his brothers to be warned.

A. A Plea for Mercy — Too late once death comes (Hebrews 9:27).

B. A Petition for Message — “Send him to my father’s house...”

C. A Problem of Misbelief — They have Moses and the prophets, but men still won’t believe (Luke 16:31).

Dispensational note: Today, people reject Paul’s epistles—the message of the risen Christ—and will face the same eternal denial.

𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗥𝗘𝗪𝗔𝗥𝗗 𝗢𝗙 𝗥𝗘𝗕𝗘𝗟𝗟𝗜𝗢𝗡— ETERNAL RETRIBUTION

Romans 2:5–6 — “...the righteous judgment of God.”

A. Justice Served — Every sin receives full payment (Galatians 6:7).

B. Judgment Settled — The Great White Throne (Revelation 20:11–15).

C. Journey Sealed — Cast into the lake of fire, forever separated (Revelation 21:8).

Dispensational note: The unsaved from all ages will be judged according to their works—not for salvation, but for their degrees of punishment.

𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗥𝗘𝗙𝗨𝗚𝗘 𝗙𝗥𝗢𝗠 𝗛𝗘𝗟𝗟 — REDEMPTION IN CHRIST

1 Thessalonians 1:10 — “...Jesus, which delivered us from the wrath to come.”

A. The Savior’s Sacrifice — Christ bore hell’s punishment on the cross (2 Corinthians 5:21).

B. The Spirit’s Seal — Believers are sealed unto the day of redemption (Ephesians 1:13).

C. The Saint’s Security — Nothing can separate us from His love (Romans 8:38–39).

Dispensational note: In this age of grace, salvation is offered freely through faith in the finished work of Christ alone—no law, no works, no rituals.

𝐂𝐎𝐍𝐂𝐋𝐔𝐒𝐈𝐎𝐍: “THE LIE OF FALSE PEACE”

The world says, “Rest in peace,” but without Christ, there is no peace—only punishment. The grave is not the end but the beginning of eternity. Hell is real, and grace is real. You cannot have both. Accepting the gospel of Christ today delivers you from everlasting fire and grants eternal rest in Him.

𝐂𝐀𝐋𝐋 𝐓𝐎 𝐀𝐂𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍: “RECEIVE THE REST OF REDEMPTION”

Believe in the finished work of Christ (1 Corinthians 15:1–4).
Break from the delusion of religion and works.
Be bold to preach this gospel—because hell is no myth, and time is short!

𝐅𝐈𝐍𝐀𝐋 𝐓𝐇𝐎𝐔𝐆𝐇𝐓𝐒

Hell is real, and people you know may be going there.
Grace is available, but only while you live.
Christ offers peace now, not after death.
The gospel of grace is the only escape.
The devil hides hell with comfort words.
The saints must preach truth without fear.
The sinner must believe now—or burn forever.

“There is no rest in peace without the Prince of Peace.” (Isaiah 57:21)
