THE GREATEST DELUSION OF MANโ
From the beginning of time, man has always tried to reach God his own way โ through religion, rituals, or righteousness. But every attempt of human effort only rejects the redemption that God has already provided through the Cross.
In the Dispensational view, salvation has always been by grace and by faith โ but the revelation of that grace was progressive, and now fully revealed in this present dispensation (Ephesians 3:2).
To say โI can save myselfโ is to say โChrist died in vainโ (Galatians 2:21).
Letโs examine the tragedy of self-salvation and the triumph of the Saviorโs sacrifice.
A. The Desire of Self-Righteousness
Romans 10:3 โ โThey being ignorant of Godโs righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness.โ
Israelโs failure was pride; manโs failure today is the same โ trusting in self, not the Savior.
B. The Deception of Satan
Genesis 3:4โ5 โ โYe shall be as gods.โ
The devilโs oldest lie is self-elevation โ believing man can achieve holiness apart from God.
C. The Danger of Self-Sufficiency
Proverbs 14:12 โ โThere is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.โ
Pride blinds man from grace. Self-salvation nullifies Christโs sacrifice.
Dispensational Truth: Manโs pride has always resisted Godโs plan โ whether under Law or under Grace.

A. The Sin-Bearing Substitute
Isaiah 53:6 โ โThe LORD hath laid on Him the iniquity of us all.โ
Salvation was always through substitution โ from animal sacrifices to the Lamb of God.
B. The Sufficient Sacrifice
Hebrews 10:12 โ โThis man, after He had offered one sacrifice for sins forever, sat down.โ
Christโs cross completed what religion could never accomplish.
C. The Spiritual Satisfaction
Romans 3:25 โ โThrough faith in His blood, to declare His righteousness.โ
Godโs justice was satisfied; His wrath was removed.
Dispensational Truth: Propitiation is the foundation of the Grace Gospel โ Godโs full payment revealed in this age of grace.

A. Religious Works Cannot Redeem
Ephesians 2:8โ9 โ โNot of works, lest any man should boast.โ
Religion is manโs attempt to climb up; redemption is Godโs act to come down.
B. Rituals Cannot Renew
Titus 3:5 โ โNot by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us.โ
Water, wafer, or worship services cannot cleanse sin โ only Christโs blood can.
C. Righteous Acts Cannot Rescue
Romans 4:5 โ โTo him that worketh not, but believeth on Him that justifieth the ungodly.โ
Human effort only exalts the flesh. Faith exalts the finished work.
Dispensational Truth: In this dispensation of grace, all human merit is excluded. Only faith in Christโs cross saves.

A. It Is Finished!
John 19:30 โ โIt is finished.โ
The work of salvation was not started by man, and it cannot be supplemented by man.
B. It Is Final!
Hebrews 9:26 โ โOnce in the end of the world hath He appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of Himself.โ
The cross was a one-time payment, not a recurring installment.
C. It Is Free!
Romans 3:24 โ โBeing justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus.โ
The cross made salvation available to all, attainable by none but received through faith alone.
Dispensational Truth: The Cross is the dividing line between Law and Grace, between works and faith.

A. Distinct from the Kingdom Gospel
Galatians 2:7 โ โThe gospel of the uncircumcision was committed unto me.โ
Peter preached repentance and baptism for Israel; Paul preached faith and grace for all nations.
B. Declared by Revelation
Ephesians 3:3โ4 โ โBy revelation He made known unto me the mystery.โ
The Grace Gospel was hidden before the Cross, revealed after the Cross.
C. Defined by Reconciliation
2 Corinthians 5:18โ19 โ โGod was in Christ, reconciling the world unto Himself.โ
The Grace Gospel is not man reaching God but God reconciling man through Christ.
Dispensational Truth: Paulโs message is not an extension of Peterโs gospel โ itโs a new revelation for the Body of Christ.
A. Rejecting the Cross Nullifies Grace
Galatians 2:21 โ โIf righteousness come by the law, then Christ is dead in vain.โ
To add to the cross is to subtract from its power.
B. Relying on Works Condemns
Romans 4:14 โ โIf they which are of the law be heirs, faith is made void.โ
Self-salvation removes the need for the Savior.
C. Refusing the Truth Damns
2 Thessalonians 2:10โ12 โ โThey received not the love of the truth... that they might be saved.โ
Rejecting grace is not just a mistake โ itโs eternal loss.
Dispensational Truth: In this age of grace, manโs only condemnation is refusal of Christโs finished work.
A. Salvation by Faith
Romans 5:1 โ โTherefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God.โ
Peace is not achieved โ itโs received through faith in Christ.
B. Standing in Grace
Romans 5:2 โ โBy whom also we have access by faith into this grace.โ
The believerโs standing is secured, not shaken.
C. Sealed by the Spirit
Ephesians 1:13 โ โYe were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise.โ
The believer is eternally secure โ not by performance but by possession of the Spirit.
Dispensational Truth: The Grace Gospel produces peace with God now and glory with Christ later.
If you could save yourself, why did Christ die?
If your works could wash away sin, why the blood of the Lamb?
If religion could redeem you, why the Redeemer?
Every attempt to save yourself is a rejection of Calvary.
Christ did not die to make salvation possible; He died to make it perfect and permanent.
Stop trusting your works โ they cannot save.
Start trusting His Word โ it cannot fail.
Stand firm in His Grace โ it cannot be undone.
โBelieve on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved. Acts 16:31
You canโt add to whatโs already finished.
You canโt earn whatโs already given.
You canโt save yourself โ thatโs why Christ came.
Salvation is not achieved by human effort, but accepted by humble faith.
