HOW TO SPOT A FAKE PASTOR

2 Corinthians 11:13–15 (KJV)

INTRODUCTION

Not everyone who stands behind a pulpit stands for the truth.

The Bible warns that false ministers do not always deny Christ openly—they disguise error with religious language. In the Dispensation of Grace, believers are commanded to discern doctrine, not blindly follow titles (2 Timothy 2:15).

Today, we will rightly divide the Word to identify 9 biblical marks of a FAKE pastor, so the Body of Christ may be protected, grounded, and established in grace.

DECEPTIVE APPEARANCE
2 Corinthians 11:14–15
Explanation:
Fake pastors often look godly but teach subtly corrupted doctrine.

A. Angelic Mask – Satan appears as an angel of light
B. Ministerial Masquerade – False apostles look like servants of righteousness
C. Outward Orthodoxy – Right words, wrong message

DENIAL OF RIGHT DIVISION
