𝗛𝗢𝗪 𝗧𝗢 𝗣𝗥𝗢𝗩𝗘 𝗧𝗛𝗔𝗧 𝗝𝗘𝗦𝗨𝗦 𝗜𝗦 𝗔 𝗗𝗜𝗦𝗣𝗘𝗡𝗦𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡𝗔𝗟𝗜𝗦𝗧?

𝗛𝗢𝗪 𝗧𝗢 𝗣𝗥𝗢𝗩𝗘 𝗧𝗛𝗔𝗧 𝗝𝗘𝗦𝗨𝗦 𝗜𝗦 𝗔 𝗗𝗜𝗦𝗣𝗘𝗡𝗦𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡𝗔𝗟𝗜𝗦𝗧?

(John 1:17; Matthew 15:24; Galatians 4:4–5)

𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻

Many reject dispensationalism by claiming, “Jesus was not a dispensationalist.” Yet the Scriptures show that our Lord Himself taught and acted dispensationally, making distinctions between Israel and Gentiles, law and grace, prophecy and mystery. If we carefully examine His words and works, we see that Christ recognized God’s different dealings with mankind throughout time.

𝗖𝗵𝗿𝗶𝘀𝘁 𝗗𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘂𝗶𝘀𝗵𝗲𝗱 𝗗𝗶𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗻𝘀𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀

Seasons Stated – He spoke of “this age” and “the age to come” (Matt. 12:32).

Scriptures Separated – He distinguished Law, Prophets, and Kingdom.

Systems Shifted – He acknowledged changes in God’s dealings with men.

𝗖𝗵𝗿𝗶𝘀𝘁 𝗗𝗶𝘃𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗱 𝗟𝗮𝘄 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗚𝗿𝗮𝗰𝗲

Lawful Living – He upheld Moses to Israel under the Law (Matt. 23:2–3).

Limitations Lifted – He prepared for the fulfillment of the Law (Matt. 5:17).

Life in Grace – He pointed toward the coming grace dispensation (John 1:17).

𝗖𝗵𝗿𝗶𝘀𝘁 𝗗𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗛𝗶𝘀 𝗠𝗶𝗻𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘆 𝘁𝗼 𝗜𝘀𝗿𝗮𝗲𝗹

Prophetic Priority – Sent to the lost sheep of Israel (Matt. 15:24).

Program Promised – Confirmed the promises made to the fathers (Rom. 15:8).

People Preferred – Israel first, then Gentiles (Matt. 10:5–6).

𝗖𝗵𝗿𝗶𝘀𝘁 𝗗𝗲𝗰𝗹𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝗞𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗱𝗼𝗺 𝗧𝗿𝘂𝘁𝗵𝘀

Mysteries Mentioned – He revealed kingdom parables (Matt. 13).

Messiah Manifested – He presented Himself as Israel’s King.

Millennium Marked – He preached the “gospel of the kingdom” (Matt. 4:23).

𝗖𝗵𝗿𝗶𝘀𝘁 𝗗𝗲𝗺𝗼𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗥𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻

Past Practices – Acknowledged former covenants.

Present Program – Preached the kingdom in His earthly ministry.

Prophetic Pause – Anticipated the postponement of Israel’s kingdom.

𝗖𝗵𝗿𝗶𝘀𝘁 𝗗𝗿𝗲𝘄 𝗟𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀 𝗕𝗲𝘁𝘄𝗲𝗲𝗻 𝗜𝘀𝗿𝗮𝗲𝗹 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗚𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗹𝗲𝘀

Divine Distinction – Israel chosen as God’s earthly people.

Dispensational Delay – Gentiles blessed through Israel’s rise.

Doctrinal Divide – Salvation of Gentiles apart from Israel revealed later by Paul.

Lawful Limitation – Commanded sacrifices (Matt. 8:4).

Resurrection Revealed – Preached through His apostles to Israel.

Rejection Recorded – Israel resisted the Holy Ghost (Acts 7).

Revelation Released – Later revealed mystery truth to Paul (Acts 9).

𝗖𝗵𝗿𝗶𝘀𝘁 𝗗𝗲𝗹𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗠𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝗧𝗵𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵 𝗣𝗮𝘂𝗹

Chosen Channel – Paul called to reveal Christ’s heavenly message.

Church Created – Body of Christ distinct from Israel (Eph. 3:1–9).

Christ’s Command – Paul preached “my gospel” by Christ’s authority.

𝗖𝗵𝗿𝗶𝘀𝘁 𝗗𝗲𝗳𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗱 𝗗𝗶𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗚𝗼𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗹𝘀

Kingdom Gospel – Preached by the twelve to Israel.

Grace Gospel – Revealed later to Paul for Gentiles.

Gospel Gap – Two distinct messages, not contradictions but dispensations.

𝗖𝗵𝗿𝗶𝘀𝘁 𝗗𝗲𝗰𝗹𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗗𝗶𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗻𝘀𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝗚𝗿𝗮𝗰𝗲

Heavenly Headship – Christ seated in heaven for the Body.

Holy Habitation – Spirit indwells all believers equally.

Divine Design – Recognized God’s unfolding plan.

Doctrinal Differences – Spoke distinctly to Israel, Body later.

Dispensational Distinction – Affirmed by His own words and works.

𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗰𝗹𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻

Jesus was not confused, nor contradictory—He was consistent with God’s dispensational dealings. He ministered under the Law, to Israel, in fulfillment of prophecy. Yet after His resurrection, He revealed a new dispensation of grace through Paul. To deny that Jesus was a dispensationalist is to deny His clear recognition of God’s progressive plan.

𝗖𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝘁𝗼 𝗔𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻

Believe – Trust the gospel of grace revealed by Christ through Paul (1 Cor. 15:1–4).
Build – Study the Scriptures rightly divided, recognizing distinctions.
Boldly Preach – Proclaim Christ according to the revelation of the mystery (Rom. 16:25).
