HIS DEATH GAVE ME ETERNAL LIFE

(The Finished Work of Christ Alone)
1 Corinthians 15:1–4 (KJV)

INTRODUCTION – WHY HIS DEATH MATTERS

The world speaks of religion, rituals, and reformβ€”but Christianity stands alone because it is founded on a finished work, not human effort. Salvation is not earned, maintained, or preserved by manβ€”it was purchased by Christ’s death. β€œJesus paid it all.” He didn’t make salvation possibleβ€”He made it complete.

In this Dispensation of Grace, eternal life is received by faith alone in the gospel revealed to the Apostle Paul (Romans–Philemon).

Today, we will examine 9 Dispensational Truths proving why HIS DEATH GAVE US ETERNAL LIFE.

PROPHESIED DEATH

Isaiah 53:5–6; Psalm 22:16

A. Predicted by Scripture – Christ’s death was foretold centuries earlier
B. Planned by Sovereignty – Not an accident, but God’s eternal purpose
C. Purposeful for Sinners – He died for us, not for Himself
Dispensational Insight:
The cross was not Plan Bβ€”it was the center of God’s redemptive plan.

PENAL SUBSTITUTION
2 Corinthians 5:21; Romans 5:8

A. Sin Transferred – Our guilt placed on Christ
B. Sentence Satisfied – God’s justice fully met
C. Substitute Supplied – The innocent died for the guilty
Grace Truth:
Christ didn’t help sinnersβ€”He replaced them.

PRECIOUS BLOOD
Ephesians 1:7; Colossians 1:14

A. Blood Redeems – Forgiveness through His blood
B. Blood Reconciles – Peace made with God
C. Blood Remains – Eternal value, never loses power
Dispensational Insight:
No sacraments, no worksβ€”only the blood.

PAID IN FULL

John 19:30; Romans 8:1

A. Debt Cancelled – β€œIt is finished”
B. Demands Completed – Nothing left unpaid
C. Condemnation Conquered – No judgment remains
Grace Truth:
If salvation could be lost, then it was never paid for fully.

PERFECT GOSPEL
1 Corinthians 15:1–4; Galatians 1:11–12

A. Defined Message – Death, burial, resurrection
B. Delivered by Paul – Revealed by the risen Christ
C. Distinct from Kingdom Gospel – Not law, not works
Dispensational Insight:
This gospel was hidden and later revealed to Paul for the Body of Christ.

PERMANENT SALVATION
Ephesians 2:8–9; Romans 11:29

A. Gift Received – Not earned
B. Grace Retained – Not maintained by effort
C. Promise Secured – God does not revoke gifts
Grace Truth:
If you could lose salvation, you would have to out-sin the cross.

POSITIONAL RIGHTEOUSNESS
Romans 3:24; Philippians 3:9

A. Justified Freely – Declared righteous
B. Imputed Righteousness – Christ’s righteousness credited
C. Identity Changed – New creation in Christ
Dispensational Insight:
God sees the believer in Christ, not in Adam.

PROMISED ETERNAL LIFE
John 10:28; Titus 1:2

A. Eternal Means Eternal – No expiration
B. Kept by God – Not by human faithfulness
C. Secured Forever – Never perish
Grace Truth:
Temporary salvation contradicts eternal life.

PROCLAIMED MESSAGE
2 Corinthians 5:18–21; Romans 1:16

A. Message to the World – β€œBe ye reconciled”
B. Ministry of Grace – Not fear, not law
C. Mission Today – Preach Christ crucified
Dispensational Insight:
The Church’s mission is evangelism, not kingdom building.
