HELL AND THE GOSPEL OF GRACE
Rejecting Godโs Gift in the Age of Grace
INTRODUCTION
Many imagine Hell as a place where God throws people He hates. But the Bible presents a different picture:
God desires all to be saved (1 Tim. 2:4)
God provided salvation for all (2 Cor. 5:14โ19)
God rejected no one โ but many reject Him
In the Dispensation of Grace, salvation is not earned by works, rituals, or religion.
It is received by faith alone in the finished work of Christ (1 Cor. 15:1โ4).
Hell is not populated by those God cast away โ it is populated by those who refused His free gift.
Let us examine this truth through the Scriptures rightly divided.
1. THE CHARACTER OF GOD โ HE WANTS ALL SAVED
(1 Tim. 2:4)
A. Saving Desire โ God wills all to come to the knowledge of truth.
B. Sovereign Patience โ Not willing any should perish (2 Pet. 3:9).
C. Sacrificial Provision โ Christ died for all humanity (1 Tim. 2:6).
2. THE CONDITION OF MAN โ ALL ARE CONDEMNED BY SIN
(Rom. 3:23)
A. Universal Corruption โ All have sinned.
B. Unavoidable Consequence โ The wages of sin is death (Rom. 6:23).
C. Unfit for Heaven โ None righteous on their own (Rom. 3:10).
3. THE CHOICE OF THE SINNER โ REJECTING GOD IS VOLUNTARY
(John 3:18)
A. Condemnation Chosen โ โHe that believeth not is condemned already.โ
B. Christ Rejected โ Men love darkness rather than light (John 3:19).
C. Choice Respected โ God honors human decision.
4. THE CRISIS OF REJECTION โ HELL IS THE RESULT OF UNBELIEF
(John 3:36)
A. Wrath Remains โ Rejecting Christ leaves sin unpaid.
B. Real Retribution โ Hell is conscious, eternal punishment (Luke 16:23).
C. Rejected Redemption โ The gift was offered but refused.
5. THE CROSS OF CHRIST โ THE ONLY WAY OF SALVATION
(1 Cor. 15:3โ4)
A. Death Provided โ Christ died for our sins.
B. Burial Proved โ Sinโs penalty fully paid.
C. Resurrection Powerful โ Eternal life secured.
6. THE CALL OF THE GOSPEL โ BELIEVE BY FAITH ALONE
(Rom. 3:26)
A. Faith Without Works โ Justified by faith apart from works (Rom. 4:5).
B. Free Gift โ Salvation is undeserved and unearned (Rom. 5:15โ18).
C. Finalized Position โ Believers stand perfect in Christ.
7. THE CONSEQUENCE OF UNBELIEF โ HELL IS SELF-INFLICTED
(Prov. 29:1)
A. Stubborn Resistance โ Rejecting repeated invitations.
B. Spiritual Ruin โ Hardened hearts eventually face judgment.
C. Severed Relationship โ God honors the sinnerโs choice forever.
8. THE COMPASSION OF GOD โ HE WARNED, WAITED, AND WOOED
(Rom. 2:4)
A. Goodness Given โ Godโs kindness leads to repentance.
B. Grace Offered โ The gospel is available to all (Titus 2:11).
C. Guilt Removed โ Anyone can be saved instantly by believing the gospel.
9. THE CERTAINTY OF SALVATION โ BELIEVE AND BE SAVED FOREVER
(Eph. 1:13)
A. Sealed by the Spirit โ Eternal security guaranteed in Christ.
B. Saved from Wrath โ Believers delivered from judgment to come (1 Thess. 1:10).
C. Settled Eternally โ No condemnation in Christ (Rom. 8:1).
CONCLUSION
Hell is not God rejecting people.
Hell is people rejecting God.
He offered salvation fully, freely, and finally through the gospel of grace.
And that gospel is simple:
Christ died for our sins, was buried, and rose again (1 Cor. 15:1โ4).
Rejecting that gospel is the only reason a soul enters Hell.
CALL TO ACTION
Believe the Gospel Today โ Trust Christโs finished work alone.
Boldly Share the Gospel โ Someoneโs eternity depends on hearing it.
Break the Silence โ Hell is real, salvation is free, and time is short.
FINAL THOUGHTS
God rejects no one who believes the gospel.
Hell is the chosen destination of those who refuse Christ.
Salvation is complete the moment you believe โ no works added.
