𝗙𝗥𝗨𝗜𝗧 𝗢𝗙 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗦𝗣𝗜𝗥𝗜𝗧

𝗙𝗥𝗨𝗜𝗧 𝗢𝗙 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗦𝗣𝗜𝗥𝗜𝗧

(Galatians 5:22–23 KJV)

𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻

Paul contrasts the works of the flesh with the fruit of the Spirit. The flesh produces corruption, but the Spirit produces Christlikeness in the believer. This fruit is not the result of keeping the Mosaic Law but of walking in the Spirit under grace. In the Dispensation of Grace, believers are not commanded to bear fruit by striving, but by yielding to the Spirit. The “fruit” (singular) shows unity—nine graces that flow from one source: the indwelling Holy Spirit.

𝗟𝗢𝗩𝗘 – 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗦𝗨𝗣𝗥𝗘𝗠𝗘 𝗔𝗙𝗙𝗘𝗖𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡

Biblical Truth: Love is the foundation of all virtues (1 Cor. 13:13).

Dispensational Insight: Israel was commanded to love God by law; the Body of Christ loves because the Spirit sheds abroad the love of God in our hearts (Rom. 5:5).

𝗝𝗢𝗬 – 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗦𝗣𝗜𝗥𝗜𝗧𝗨𝗔𝗟 𝗔𝗣𝗣𝗥𝗘𝗖𝗜𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡

Biblical Truth: Joy is not circumstantial happiness but inner gladness.

Dispensational Insight: Israel’s joy was tied to kingdom blessings, but our joy is rooted in our position in Christ and eternal hope (Phil. 4:4).

𝗣𝗘𝗔𝗖𝗘– 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗦𝗧𝗘𝗔𝗗𝗙𝗔𝗦𝗧 𝗔𝗦𝗦𝗨𝗥𝗔𝗡𝗖𝗘

Biblical Truth: Peace is reconciliation with God through Christ (Rom. 5:1).

Dispensational Insight: While Israel awaits peace in the kingdom, the Body of Christ enjoys peace with God now through grace.

𝗟𝗢𝗡𝗚𝗦𝗨𝗙𝗙𝗘𝗥𝗜𝗡𝗚 – 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗦𝗣𝗜𝗥𝗜𝗧𝗨𝗔𝗟 𝗔𝗧𝗧𝗜𝗧𝗨𝗗𝗘

Biblical Truth: Patience with people, enduring provocation without retaliation.

Dispensational Insight: Just as God is longsuffering in this age of grace (2 Pet. 3:9), believers reflect His patience toward others.

𝗚𝗘𝗡𝗧𝗟𝗘𝗡𝗘𝗦𝗦 – 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗦𝗪𝗘𝗘𝗧 𝗔𝗣𝗣𝗥𝗢𝗔𝗖𝗛

Biblical Truth: Kindness, tenderness in spirit, and graciousness toward others.

Dispensational Insight: Under law, judgment was emphasized; under grace, gentleness flows naturally from the Spirit’s work in us (2 Tim. 2:24).

𝗚𝗢𝗢𝗗𝗡𝗘𝗦𝗦 – 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗦𝗜𝗡𝗖𝗘𝗥𝗘 𝗔𝗖𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡

Biblical Truth: Doing good with purity of motive, reflecting God’s character.

Dispensational Insight: Israel showed goodness through external works of the law; we show goodness as a fruit of grace, not works (Eph. 2:10).

𝗙𝗔𝗜𝗧𝗛 – 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗦𝗧𝗥𝗢𝗡𝗚 𝗔𝗦𝗦𝗨𝗥𝗔𝗡𝗖𝗘

Biblical Truth: Faith here refers to faithfulness, reliability, and trust.

Dispensational Insight: The Spirit enables believers to remain faithful to Christ in the midst of apostasy (1 Cor. 4:2).

𝗠𝗘𝗘𝗞𝗡𝗘𝗦𝗦 – 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗦𝗨𝗕𝗠𝗜𝗦𝗦𝗜𝗩𝗘 𝗔𝗧𝗧𝗜𝗧𝗨𝗗𝗘

Biblical Truth: Power under control, humility before God and man.

Dispensational Insight: Christ Himself was meek (Matt. 11:29). Under grace, we walk in meekness as we follow Paul’s pattern of humility (Eph. 4:2).

𝗧𝗘𝗠𝗣𝗘𝗥𝗔𝗡𝗖𝗘 – 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗦𝗘𝗟𝗙-𝗖𝗢𝗡𝗧𝗥𝗢𝗟𝗟𝗘𝗗 𝗔𝗣𝗣𝗟𝗜𝗖𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡

Biblical Truth: Discipline of desires, controlling appetites and passions.

Dispensational Insight: Unlike Israel’s outward restrictions, believers have inward Spirit-control that governs their walk in holiness (Tit. 2:11–12).

𝗖𝗢𝗡𝗖𝗟𝗨𝗦𝗜𝗢𝗡

The fruit of the Spirit is not achieved but received, not manufactured but manifested. It is the evidence of walking in the Spirit, not the flesh. Under law, men tried and failed; under grace, the Spirit produces what the law could never accomplish. These nine virtues reflect Christ Himself living in us.

𝗖𝗔𝗟𝗟 𝗧𝗢 𝗔𝗖𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡

Walk in the Spirit (Gal. 5:16) – Yield daily to His leading.
War Against the Flesh – Starve the works of the flesh and feed the new man.
Witness with Your Life – Let the Spirit’s fruit be your testimony before the world.
Work with Eternity in View – Remember that Spirit-produced fruit will remain for eternity.
Wait on His Power – Don’t strive in the flesh; let the Spirit bear His fruit through you.
