From Sinner in Adam to Saint in Christ

1. Our Old Position – In Adam

Nature – children of wrath, children of disobedience (Eph. 2:1–3).

Condition – in darkness, blinded, following the course of this world (Eph. 4:17–19).

Result – death passed upon all men (Rom. 5:12).

Identity – sinners, dead in sins, under Satan’s power (Rom. 3:23; Acts 26:18).

2. God’s Intervention – But God

Rich in mercy, great in love (Eph. 2:4).

Christ died for us while we were yet sinners (Rom. 5:8).

Grace is given, not earned—not of works (Eph. 2:8–9).

3. Our New Position – In Christ

Quickened, raised, seated in heavenly places (Eph. 2:5–6).

Made alive and complete in Him (1 Cor. 15:22; Col. 2:10).

Beloved of God, called to be saints (Rom. 1:7).

Christ in us, the hope of glory (Col. 1:27).

4. Our Identity – Names & Titles of Believers

Saints (Rom. 1:7)

Members of His body (1 Cor. 12:27)

New creature (2 Cor. 5:17)

Sons and heirs of God (Gal. 3:26; Rom. 8:17)

Ambassadors for Christ (2 Cor. 5:20)

Elect of God, beloved, children of light (Col. 3:12; 1 Thess. 5:5)

Complete in Christ, more than conquerors, accepted in the Beloved (Col. 2:10; Rom. 8:37; Eph. 1:6)

Redeemed, righteous, holy, temple of the Holy Ghost (Eph. 1:7; 2 Cor. 5:21; Eph. 1:4; 1 Cor. 6:19)

5. Our Walk – Living Out Who We Are

Not in ignorance, but in understanding (2 Tim. 2:7, 15–16).

Serve God His way, in His dispensation of grace (Eph. 3:1–9).

Walk worthy of our calling in Christ (Eph. 4:1).

Takeaway:

The Christian life is not about trying to become something you are not—it’s about believing who God already made you in Christ and walking in that identity.
