FOLLOWING PAUL IN THIS DISPENSATION OF GRACE

INTRODUCTION

God has always worked through appointed men for specific dispensations.
Israel followed Moses under the Law, but the Churchβ€”The Body of Christβ€”must follow Paul under Grace.

Confusion comes when we mix programs. Clarity comes when we rightly divide the Word of Truth.
2 Timothy 2:15 (KJV)

THE PROGRAMS ARE DISTINCT
God operates with different administrations in Scripture.

Different People – Israel vs. Body of Christ
Romans 9:4–5; Ephesians 3:6
Different Promises – Earthly vs. Heavenly
Matthew 5:5; Philippians 3:20
Different Purposes – Kingdom vs. Grace
Acts 3:19–21; Romans 11:13

THE PERSONS ARE DESIGNATED
God appoints specific leaders for specific dispensations.

Moses to Israel
Exodus 3:10
Twelve Apostles to Israel
Matthew 10:5–7
Paul to the Gentiles
Romans 11:13; Acts 9:15

THE PROCLAMATIONS ARE DIFFERENT

What is preached changes with God’s program.

Kingdom Gospel – Repent, the kingdom is at hand
Matthew 4:17
Grace Gospel – Christ died, was buried, and rose again
1 Corinthians 15:1–4
Mystery Gospel – Hidden, now revealed
Romans 16:25

THE PROMISES ARE DISTINGUISHED
God’s covenants are not all addressed to us.

Land & Law Promises to Israel
Genesis 12:1–3; Exodus 19:5
Heavenly Blessings to the Church
Ephesians 1:3
Inheritance in Christ, not the Kingdom
Colossians 1:12

THE POSITION IS DIFFERENT
Where believers stand depends on the dispensation.

Israel under the Law
Galatians 3:23
Church under Grace
Romans 6:14
New Creature in Christ
2 Corinthians 5:17

THE PRACTICES ARE DISTINGUISHED
God does not require the same religious practices today.

Circumcision commanded to Israel
Genesis 17:10
Circumcision not required today
Galatians 5:2
Law replaced by Liberty
Galatians 5:1

THE PATTERN IS PAULINE
Paul is the doctrinal pattern for the Church.

Paul received revelation directly from Christ
Galatians 1:11–12
Paul is our example in doctrine and walk
1 Corinthians 11:1
Paul explains our position in Christ
Ephesians 2:6

THE PURPOSE IS HEAVENLY
The Church is not preparing the earthβ€”it is awaiting heaven.

Seated in heavenly places
Ephesians 2:6
Waiting for the Rapture
1 Thessalonians 4:16–17
Judgment Seat of Christ ahead
2 Corinthians 5:10

THE PRIORITY IS RIGHT DIVISION

Confusion ends when Scripture is rightly divided.

Not all Scripture is written TO us
Romans 15:4
Paul’s Epistles are doctrine for today
Romans–Philemon
Grace magnifies Christ alone
Ephesians 2:8–9

CONCLUSION

Israel followed Moses and failed under the Law.
The Church follows Paul and stands complete in Christ by Grace.
Mixing Law and Grace produces confusion, bondage, and false doctrine.
Galatians 2:7–9

CALL TO ACTION

Study Paul’s Epistles
Rightly divide the Word
Stand fast in Grace

Proclaim the Gospel of Grace boldly
2 Timothy 2:15; Galatians 5:1
