Man is more than a body โ€” he has a soul and spirit that requires nourishment. Jesus said, โ€œMan shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of Godโ€ (Luke 4:4). In Paulโ€™s epistles, believers are taught to grow in grace and be edified by sound doctrine, not carnal appetite (1 Cor. 3:2; 1 Tim. 4:6). Sadly, many today feed their stomach more than their soul, prioritizing earthly desires over eternal truth.

Paul reminds us that doctrine must come first โ€” sound teaching is more vital than physical bread (1 Tim. 4:6).

Prayer keeps the soul connected to the Source of strength, not just asking for bread (Phil. 4:6).

Food for the body perishes, but food for the soul lasts forever. Many churches feed peopleโ€™s stomachs with programs and socials but starve them of sound doctrine. As dispensationalists, we know our nourishment is found in Paulโ€™s epistles, where God reveals the truth for this present age.
