DISCERN THE VOICE — NOT EVERYONE SPEAKS BY THE SPIRIT

INTRODUCTION

In an age of endless voices, opinions, prophecies, and posts, not every voice is from the Holy Spirit. Scripture repeatedly warns that false teachers, slanderers, and deceivers will operate—even among religious people. In the Dispensation of Grace, believers are commanded to discern, test, and stand on sound doctrine, not emotions or popularity.

Spirit-tested – Every message must be tested, not admired
Speaker-examined – Character reveals the source (fruit test)
Satan-exposed – Lies originate from the father of lies
Not all spiritual-sounding words are Spirit-sent.

② SPEECH — Examine What Is Being Spoken

Words reveal hearts – Speech exposes motives
Words release life or death – No neutral speech
Words reflect allegiance – God or the devil
The tongue is a spiritual weapon.

③ SLANDER — Recognize the Devil’s Strategy

Accusation divides – Satan is the accuser
Rumors destroy unity – God hates sowing discord
Reputation damages witness – Especially in the church
Gossip is not harmless—it is satanic.

④ SPIRIT — Distinguish the Holy Spirit’s Work
John 16:13–14; Ephesians 1:13

Glorifies Christ – Not self
Guides in truth – Not confusion
Grounds believers – Not chaos
The Holy Spirit never contradicts Scripture.

⑤ SCRIPTURE — Submit Every Voice to God’s Word

Truth over tradition – Bible over feelings
Dispensational clarity protects from deception.

⑥ SEPARATION — Avoid Deceitful Influences

Move away wisely – Separation is biblical
Maintain purity – In doctrine and fellowship
Unity without truth is dangerous.

⑦ SOUNDNESS — Stand on Healthy Doctrine

Sound doctrine stabilizes – Keeps believers grounded
Scripture-centered preaching – Not entertainment
Spirit-led discernment – Not itching ears
Truth is not always popular—but it is always right.

⑧ SPEAKING — Speak Grace, Not Gossip
Ephesians 4:29; Colossians 4:6

Edifying words – Build, not break
Seasoned speech – Grace-filled, not poisonous
Self-controlled tongue – Evidence of maturity
Grace controls the mouth of a believer.

⑨ STANDING — Stay Faithful in Spiritual Warfare
Ephesians 6:11–13; 2 Timothy 2:3

Armor applied – Truth, righteousness, faith
Endurance expected – Soldiers don’t quit
Victory assured – In Christ
Discernment is part of spiritual warfare.

CONCLUSION

Not every preacher, prophet, post, or personality speaks by the Holy Spirit. Some voices sound spiritual but spread poison. In this dispensation, God calls believers to rightly divide, discern wisely, and stand firmly in the truth of Christ revealed through Paul.
