INTRODUCTION

Modern culture has rearranged God’s order for the family, placing children, emotions, and self at the center—while Christ is pushed aside. The result is confusion, stress, and broken homes.

Paul, writing to the Body of Christ, reveals God’s design for the family under grace, not law—an order that produces unity, love, and strength.

Today we will examine NINE TRUTHS contrasting the CULTURAL ORDER with the BIBLICAL ORDER of the family.

CENTER — Self vs. Savior
Colossians 1:18

A. Cultural Focus – Children or self at the center
B. Christ’s Place – Preeminence in all things
C. Correct Alignment – Christ first, everything else follows
Insight:
When Christ is removed from the center, everything collapses.

COMMAND — Culture’s Voice vs. Christ’s Word

A. Cultural Pressure – Trends and opinions
B. Christ’s Instruction – Word dwelling richly
C. Clear Authority – Scripture over society

CHAIN — Disorder vs. Design
1 Corinthians 11:3

A. Cultural Reversal – Children or wife rule the home
B. Biblical Headship – Christ → Husband → Wife → Children

Dispensational Clarity:
God’s order is about function, not value.

CALLING — Pressure vs. Purpose

C. Christ-Centered Growth – Children raised in the Lord
Pauline Doctrine:
Children are shaped by example, not indulgence.

CONSEQUENCE — Chaos vs. Cohesion

C. Christ’s Character – God is not the author of confusion

God’s order always produces spiritual stability.

CHARACTER — Worldliness vs. Witness
Titus 2:7–8

C. Gospel Display – Grace lived out daily
Application:
The home is the first pulpit of the believer.

CROWN — Temporary vs. Testified

B. Biblical Faithfulness – Enduring testimony
C. Eternal Reward – God honored in the home

A successful family is one that finishes faithful.

CONCLUSION

When culture defines the family, the result is chaos.
When Christ defines the family, the result is unity and strength.
