“Come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord…” — 2 Corinthians 6:17 (KJV)

 

INTRODUCTION

From Genesis to Revelation, God calls His people to separation from religious confusion and devotion to revealed truth. In the Dispensation of Grace, the call is not to reform religion but to rest in Christ alone and to rightly divide the Word of Truth (2 Timothy 2:15).

Revelation exposes a coming religious system that replaces grace with ritual and truth with tradition. Heaven’s command is clear: “Come out!”

 

The COMMAND of Separation

Revelation 18:4

A. A Heavenly Voice — God Himself issues the call.

B. A Holy Distinction — Separation protects purity.

C. A Clear Escape — Leave before judgment falls.

Separation is obedience, not pride.

 

The CONFUSION of Religion

1 Corinthians 14:33

A. Mixed Messages — Many voices, no certainty.

B. Man-Made Methods — Tradition over truth (Mark 7:7).

C. Misplaced Trust — Systems trusted instead of Christ.

God is not the author of confusion.

 

The CORRUPTION of Tradition

Colossians 2:8

A. Philosophy Over Faith — Human wisdom exalted.

B. Ritual Over Redemption — Forms replace faith.

C. Rules Over Relationship — Bondage replaces liberty.

Tradition cannot save a soul.

 

The COUNTERFEIT of Godliness

2 Timothy 3:5

A. Form Without Power — Appearance without life.

B. Religion Without Righteousness — Works without grace.

C. Profession Without Possession — Name without new birth.

Godliness without Christ is deception.

 

The COMPROMISE of the Latter Times

1 Timothy 4:1

A. Departing from the Faith — Truth abandoned.

B. Deceiving Spirits — Spiritual seduction.

C. Doctrines of Devils — Error masquerading as truth.

Apostasy increases as truth decreases.

 

The CONTRAST of the True Gospel

Galatians 1:11–12

A. Revealed by God — Not after man.

B. Rooted in Grace — Salvation by faith alone (Eph. 2:8–9).

C. Centered on Christ — His finished work sufficient.

The gospel is received, not achieved.

 

The CALL to Right Division

2 Timothy 2:15

A. Scriptures Properly Divided — Law and Grace distinguished.

B. Programs Properly Understood — Israel and the Church distinct.

C. Promises Properly Applied — Truth handled accurately.

Confusion disappears when Scripture is rightly divided.

 

The CONSEQUENCES of Staying In

Revelation 18:4–5

A. Shared Sin — Participation brings guilt.

B. Shared Judgment — Plagues follow compromise.

C. Shared Blindness — Truth rejected hardens hearts.

Staying in error invites its judgment.

 

The COMMITMENT to Christ Alone

Philippians 3:9

A. Faith Alone — Not works or rituals.

B. Christ Alone — No mediator but Him (1 Tim. 2:5).

C. Grace Alone — God’s unearned favor.

Christ is enough—forever.

 

CONCLUSION

God is not calling His people to join another system—He is calling them to COME OUT. The issue is not denomination, culture, or label; the issue is truth versus tradition, grace versus works, Christ versus religion. In this Dispensation of Grace, the safest place is in Christ, standing on His Word.
