𝐈𝐍𝐓𝐑𝐎𝐃𝐔𝐂𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍

Acts 2:38 is one of the most quoted—and most misapplied—verses today.

Many preachers insist it is the formula for salvation, baptism, forgiveness, and receiving the Spirit.

But a dispensational understanding recognizes that Acts 2:38 was preached to Israel during the Kingdom offer, not to the Body of Christ under grace.

Because people fail to rightly divide the Word (2 Tim. 2:15), they confuse Israel’s program with our program, leading many to teach a gospel mixed with works.

This message clarifies what Acts 2:38 meant, who it was for, and why it is misapplied today.

𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗔𝗨𝗗𝗜𝗘𝗡𝗖𝗘 𝗢𝗙 𝗔𝗖𝗧𝗦 𝟮:𝟯𝟴
(Spoken Specifically to Israel)

Acts 2:36 — “Let all the house of Israel know assuredly…”

A. A National People — Addressed to Israel, not the Gentiles.
B. A National Problem — They crucified their Messiah.
C. A National Plea — Peter calls Israel to repent as a nation.

Acts 2:38 — “Repent, and be baptized… for the remission of sins.”

A. Repentance for Israel — Required for national restoration (Acts 3:19).
B. Ritual Baptism for Israel — Water baptism tied to cleansing under the Law (Mark 1:4).
C. Remission Promised — Conditional forgiveness in the Kingdom gospel.

B. Confirming Paul’s Gospel — Christ died, was buried, rose again (1 Cor. 15:1–4).
C. Correcting Modern Errors — No mixing of law, water, or works.

Acts 2:38 remains a true and inspired verse—
but not for this dispensation.

It was part of Israel’s Kingdom offer, connected to prophecy, water baptism, and apostolic signs.

Today, salvation is by grace through faith alone, revealed through the apostle Paul, not by repentance rituals or baptism requirements.

Understanding Acts 2:38 correctly protects the gospel of grace from corruption.
