SATAN BINDS β€” CHRIST SAVES

β€œChrist saves to the uttermost.” (Hebrews 7:25)

INTRODUCTION

The Bible clearly teaches that sin enslaves, Satan deceives, and souls are held captive apart from Christ. Yet the same Bible proclaims a greater truth: Jesus Christ saves completely, permanently, and powerfully.

Rightly divided Scripture shows:
Satan is the god of this world (2 Corinthians 4:4)
Sin reigns over the lost (Romans 6:12)
But Christ delivers fully in this Dispensation of Grace (Ephesians 2:8–9)

Today we will examine 9 DISPENSATIONAL TRUTHS that expose bondage and exalt Christ’s saving power.

SATAN’S SOVEREIGNTY OVER SINNERS
2 Corinthians 4:3–4

A. Blinded Minds – Satan blinds the lost from gospel truth
B. Bonded Lives – Unbelievers are under his authority
C. Beguiled Hearts – Deception keeps sinners comfortable in chains
Dispensational Insight:
Satan does not rule believersβ€”only the lost world system.

SIN’S SLAVERY OF THE SOUL
Romans 6:16

A. Enslaving Appetites – Sin dominates desires
B. Enforcing Obedience – Sin demands submission
C. Ending in Death – Sin always pays wages
Dispensational Insight:
Freedom from sin comes only by grace, not law-keeping.

SINFUL BONDAGES IDENTIFIED
Galatians 5:19–21

A. Lust’s Chains – Corrupt desires rule the flesh
B. Idolatry’s Captivity – Anything replacing God enslaves
C. Intoxication’s Control – Substance sin dominates the will
Dispensational Insight:
These describe lost flesh, not the new man in Christ.

SATAN’S STRATEGY OF STRINGS
2 Timothy 2:26

A. Snaring the Mind – Satan sets mental traps
B. Steering the Will – He leads captives unknowingly
C. Silencing the Truth – Keeps souls from repentance
Dispensational Insight:
Only the preached gospel breaks the snare.

CHRIST’S COMPLETE CONQUEST
Colossians 2:13–15

A. Cancelled Debt – Sin’s record nailed to the cross
B. Conquered Powers – Satan publicly defeated
C. Confirmed Victory – Resurrection sealed triumph
Dispensational Insight:
The cross defeated Satan once for all.

SALVATION BY GRACE ALONE
Ephesians 2:8–9

A. Grace Provided – Salvation is God’s gift
B. Faith Required – Belief, not behavior
C. Works Excluded – No human merit allowed
Dispensational Insight:
Grace is the ruling principle of this dispensation.

SEVERED CHAINS IN CHRIST
Romans 6:6–7

A. Crucified Old Man – Sin’s authority broken
B. Cleared Conscience – No condemnation remains
C. Controlled New Life – Christ now reigns
Dispensational Insight:
Believers are freed positionally, learning freedom practically.

SECURE SALVATION FOREVER
Hebrews 7:25

A. Saved Completely – β€œTo the uttermost”
B. Sustained Continually – Christ intercedes
C. Secured Eternally – Never lost again
Dispensational Insight:
Salvation is eternal, not conditional.

SEPARATION FROM SIN’S DOMINION
Romans 6:14

A. Grace Governs Now – Not law
B. Spirit Leads Daily – New walk
C. Service Follows Salvation – Not to earn, but to honor
Dispensational Insight:
Grace teaches holiness, not bondage.

CONCLUSION

Satan controls sinners.
Sin enslaves souls.
But Christ saves to the uttermost.
No chain is too strong.
No sinner too deep.
No past too dark.
The same grace that saves also secures.
