WHY IS WATER BAPTISM NECESSARY TO ISRAEL’S PROGRAM?

INTRODUCTION

One of the most confused doctrines in Christianity is water baptism.
Many assume that because Israel was baptized, the Church must be baptized too.

But Scriptureβ€”rightly dividedβ€”reveals:
Water baptism was commanded, required, and meaningful in Israel’s prophetic program.
Water baptism is absent as a requirement in Paul’s revelation of grace.

Today, we answer WHY water baptism was necessary for Israel, and WHY it is not commanded for the Body of Christ.



PROPHETIC PREPARATION
Isaiah 40:3; Malachi 3:1; Matthew 3:1–3
Explanation:
Water baptism prepared Israel for her coming King.

A. Foretold Cleansing – Prophets predicted national purification
