ONE LIE YOUR PASTOR ALWAYS TEACH YOU:
β€œGOD WILL CURSE YOU IF YOU DON’T GIVE”

Romans 8:1; Galatians 3:13; 2 Corinthians 9:7

Dispensational Focus: Grace vs. Law β€” Israel vs. the Body of Christ

INTRODUCTION

One of the most common fear-based lies preached today is this:
β€œIf you don’t give (tithe), God will curse you.”
This teaching sounds biblical, but when Scripture is rightly divided (2 Timothy 2:15), it is exposed as a misapplied LAW passage forced upon GRACE believers.

God does not curse the Church, the Body of Christ.
Christ was cursed FOR us.
Today we will expose this lie through 9 dispensational truths.

CURSE MISPLACED
Galatians 3:10

A. Curses belong to the Mosaic Law
Spoken to Israel under covenant.
B. The Law demanded performance
Blessing or curse was conditional.
C. The Church was never under that covenant
We were not at Sinai.
Dispensational Insight:
You cannot threaten the Church with Israel’s contract.

CROSS SATISFIED
Galatians 3:13

A. Christ became the curse
He absorbed judgment fully.
B. The curse was executed once
No curse remains to threaten believers.
C. Redemption is complete
Paid in full.
Dispensational Insight:
A believer cannot be cursed twice for the same sin.

CONDEMNATION CANCELED
Romans 8:1

A. No condemnation in Christ
Zero, none, ever.
B. Giving does not maintain salvation
Christ already did.
C. Fear-based giving denies assurance
Grace produces peace, not panic.
Dispensational Insight:
Condemnation belongs to Law, not Grace.

CONTEXT CORRUPTED
Malachi 3:8–10

A. Spoken to Israel under the Law
Levitical priesthood context.
B. Tithes were agricultural and national
Not church offerings.
C. No church, no Body of Christ present
Paul had not yet been revealed.
Dispensational Insight:
Stealing Israel’s mail causes doctrinal theft.

CHURCH DISTINGUISHED
Ephesians 3:2

A. The Church lives under Grace
Not covenantal law.
B. Grace cannot curse
Grace gives freely.
C. God is not collecting taxes today
He is forming a Body.
Dispensational Insight:
The Dispensation of Grace replaces fear with favor.

CHEERFUL COMMAND
2 Corinthians 9:7

A. Giving is voluntary
β€œAs he purposeth in his heart.”
B. No pressure, no threats
God hates coercion.
C. Cheerfulness proves grace
Not obligation.
Dispensational Insight:
Grace giving flows from joy, not fear.

COMPULSION CONDEMNED
2 Corinthians 9:5

A. Paul rejected covetous pressure
No forced offerings.
B. Manipulation is not ministry
It is extortion.
C. Fear-based fundraising is fleshly
Not spiritual.
Dispensational Insight:
True ministry trusts Godβ€”not intimidation.

CHARACTER REVEALED
Romans 6:14

A. Grace rules, not threats
God leads by love.
B. Fear teaching reveals unbelief
In Christ’s sufficiency.
C. Pastors who threaten deny grace
Even unknowingly.
Dispensational Insight:
Wrong doctrine produces wrong methods.

CHRIST EXALTED
2 Corinthians 8:9

A. Christ gave Himself freely
He did not demand first.
B. Grace motivates generosity
Love, not law.
C. The cross ends all curses
Forever.
Dispensational Insight:
The gospel givesβ€”never threatens.

CONCLUSION

God does not curse His children for not giving.
That lie belongs to LAW preaching, not GRACE truth.
If God curses believers for money,
then Christ’s cross was insufficient.
But Scripture says otherwise.

CALL TO ACTION

Reject fear-based giving
Rightly divide the Word
Give freely, joyfully, and willingly
Believe the gospel alone:
1 Corinthians 15:1–4
