SATAN’S STRATEGY VS. THE SAINT’S STRONGHOLD

(How the Enemy Attacks the Mindβ€”and How God Arms the Believer)

INTRODUCTION

Satan is not after your money first, your body first, or your church firstβ€”he is after your MIND.
In this Dispensation of Grace, Satan’s primary battlefield is doctrine, because doctrine shapes belief, and belief shapes destiny (2 Corinthians 4:4).

The believer’s only defense is the inspired, rightly divided Word of God (2 Timothy 2:15).

Today, we will expose 9 dangers of Satan’s mental warfare and show how Pauline truth protects the believer.

DECEPTION OF THE DEVIL
John 8:44; 2 Corinthians 11:3

A. Falsehoods Presented as Truth – Lies wrapped in Scripture
B. Familiarity Used as a Trap – β€œDid God really say?”
C. Faith Undermined Subtly – Not denial, but distortion
Dispensational Insight:
Satan doesn’t attack inspirationβ€”he attacks interpretation.

DARKENING OF THE MIND

2 Corinthians 4:4; Ephesians 4:18

A. Blinded Understanding – Unable to see grace clearly
B. Blocked Discernment – Cannot distinguish law from grace
C. Bondage to Religion – Blind but sincere
Dispensational Insight:
Blindness today is not ignoranceβ€”it is spiritual confusion.

DISTRACTION FROM DOCTRINE

1 Timothy 1:3–4; Titus 1:14

A. Focus on Feelings – Emotion replaces exposition
B. Fascination with Fables – Stories over Scripture
C. Forgetting Pauline Authority – Peter quoted over Paul
Dispensational Insight:
Right doctrine produces right direction.

DENIAL OF RIGHT DIVISION
2 Timothy 2:15; Romans 15:4

A. Mixing Israel and the Church
B. Misapplying Kingdom Commands
C. Misusing Judgment Passages
Dispensational Insight:
Confusion disappears when Scripture is rightly divided.

DOUBT IN GOD’S WILL
Romans 12:2; Colossians 1:9

A. Questioning Assurance – β€œAm I really saved?”
B. Questioning Standing – β€œHave I done enough?”
C. Questioning Security – β€œCan I lose it?”
Dispensational Insight:
God’s will is revealed through Paulβ€”not feelings.

DISTORTION OF THE GOSPEL
Galatians 1:6–9; 1 Corinthians 15:1–4

A. Adding Works – Faith plus effort
B. Altering the Message – Repentance replaces belief
C. Attacking Simplicity – Grace made complicated
Dispensational Insight:
There is ONE gospel for todayβ€”Paul’s gospel.

DEPENDENCE ON SELF

Galatians 2:20; Philippians 3:3

A. Trusting Personal Righteousness
B. Trusting Performance
C. Trusting Experience
Dispensational Insight:
Grace removes boastingβ€”Christ alone is the focus.

DECEPTION BY RELIGION
Colossians 2:8; Romans 10:2–3

A. Religious Zeal Without Knowledge
B. Rituals Without Redemption
C. Tradition Without Truth
Dispensational Insight:
Religion blinds; grace enlightens.

DEFENSE THROUGH THE WORD
2 Timothy 3:16–17; Ephesians 6:17

A. Scripture as Sword – Not feelings, but facts
B. Sound Doctrine as Shield – Truth guards the mind
C. Study as Survival – Ignorance is vulnerability
Dispensational Insight:
Victory comes through right doctrine, rightly divided.

CONCLUSION

Satan’s power lies in lies, but the believer’s power lies in truth.
The Word of Godβ€”rightly dividedβ€”is not optional; it is essential.
If Satan controls your thinking, he controls your walk.
If Scripture renews your mind, Christ controls your life.
