YOU CAN’T ARGUE WITH THE SPIRITUALLY BLIND

2 Corinthians 4:4 (KJV)
“In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not…”

INTRODUCTION

Spiritual blindness is not an intellectual problem—it is a spiritual condition. In this present Dispensation of Grace, Satan blinds minds to keep men from seeing the glorious gospel of Christ revealed to Paul. Truth cannot be argued into a blinded heart; it must be revealed by God’s Word, rightly divided.

① BLINDED BY SATAN
(The Source of Blindness)

Deceiver at work – Satan actively blinds minds (2 Cor. 4:4)
Darkness preferred – Men love darkness rather than light (John 3:19)
Devil’s dominion – He is the god of this world system (Eph. 2:2)
Blindness is satanic, not accidental.

② BLOCKED FROM SEEING
(The Effect of Blindness)

Glory concealed – They cannot see Christ’s glory (2 Cor. 4:4)
Gospel hidden – Truth is veiled to the lost (2 Cor. 4:3)
Grace misunderstood – They reject salvation by grace alone (Rom. 11:6)
Blind men argue theology but never see grace.

③ BELIEF IS THE ISSUE
(Not Intelligence, but Faith)

Believe not – Blindness rests on unbelief (2 Cor. 4:4)
Bible rejected – God’s Word is foolishness to them (1 Cor. 2:14)
Blind reasoning – Carnal mind cannot grasp spiritual truth (Rom. 8:7)
You can educate a man and still lose his soul.

④ BOUND BY THE FLESH
(Why They Resist Truth)

Flesh dominates – They walk after the flesh (Rom. 8:5)
Feelings rule – Emotion replaces revelation (Prov. 14:12)
Form over faith – Religion without regeneration (2 Tim. 3:5)
The flesh hates grace because grace ends boasting.

⑤ BATTLE IS NOT DEBATE
(Why Arguing Fails)

Words can’t heal blindness – Only God gives sight (Acts 26:18)
Wisdom can’t convert – Power is in the gospel (Rom. 1:16)
Winning arguments ≠ winning souls (1 Cor. 1:21)
We preach Christ—not cleverness.

⑥ BEHOLDING BRINGS SIGHT
(How Blindness Is Removed)

Light shines – God commands light into hearts (2 Cor. 4:6)
Lord reveals – Salvation is revelation, not reasoning (Matt. 11:25)
Looking to Christ – Faith comes by hearing (Rom. 10:17)
Sight begins when Christ is believed.

⑦ BODY OF CHRIST DISTINCTION
(Dispensational Clarity)

Mystery revealed – Truth given to Paul (Eph. 3:1–9)
Message for today – Gospel of grace (1 Cor. 15:1–4)
Mixing dispensations blinds – Right division brings clarity (2 Tim. 2:15)
Confusion is cured by right division.

⑧ BELIEVERS MUST BE BOLD
(Our Responsibility)

Speak plainly – Not hiding the gospel (2 Cor. 4:2)
Stand patiently – Blindness may remain (2 Tim. 2:24–26)
Share faithfully – God gives the increase (1 Cor. 3:6)
Our job is to preach—God’s job is to open eyes.

⑨ BELIEVE BEFORE IT’S TOO LATE
(Urgency of the Message)

Blindness is temporary – Judgment is eternal (Heb. 9:27)
Grace has a limit – Today is the day of salvation (2 Cor. 6:2)
Believe the gospel now – Before the light is gone (John 12:35)
Blindness ends at death—but so does opportunity.

CALL TO ACTION

Stop arguing—start believing
Study the Word rightly divided
Trust the gospel of grace alone (1 Cor. 15:1–4)
Pray for God to open blinded eyes

CONCLUSION

You cannot argue sight into a blind man. You cannot reason light into darkness. But God can open eyes when His gospel is believed. In this Dispensation of Grace, the answer is not debate—it is belief in Christ crucified, buried, and risen again.
