Why is Grace Mocked So Much…..
Paul’s gospel has always attracted resistance. Grace exposes human pride, religious effort, and fleshly boasting – so mockery is inevitable wherever truth is preached.
2 Corinthians 11:3 But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.
Mockers are not proof of error – They are proof that truth has been heard and rejected.

Β

1. Paul Never Sought Man’s Approval

Paul did not adjust doctrine to gain acceptance. He preached Christ according to revelation of the mystery given to him directly from the risen, glorified Lord – not popularity.

Galatians 4:16 Am I therefore become your enemy, because I tell you the truth?

Grace confronts pride.Truth offends flesh.Mockery follows rejection of truth.
Paul understood this and never retreated.

Β

2. Mockery Targets Grace Specifically

Paul’s gospel was mocked because it:

Eliminates works-based righteousness

Declares salvation finished in Christ alone

Separates the Body of Christ from Israel’s program

Ephesians 2:9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.

Religion hates a completed work. Those who labor for salvation resent those who rest in it.

Β

3. The Body of Christ Is Not Under Law

Paul revealed the unique position of believers today:

1 Corinthians 12:13 For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body.

Mockers cannot grasp this truth because they mix law and grace, prophecy and mystery.

1 Corinthians 2:14 The natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him.

Right division clarifies truth. Confusion produces ridicule.

Β

4. Mockery Does Not Weaken Truth

Paul fully expected ridicule and rejection.

1 Corinthians 1:18 For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.

Mockery reveals a perishing rebellious mindset

Truth stands whether applauded or laughed at.

2 Corinthians 13:8 For we can do nothing against the truth, but for the truth

Β

5. Paul’s Instruction to Believers

Paul never told believers to argue endlessly or defend themselves emotionally.

2 Timothy 4:2 Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine.

Our responsibility is preaching sound doctrine, not reaction. The Word of God does the work.

Β

6. Mockers Actually Confirm God’s Plan

Opposition has always accompanied truth – and always will.

Psalm 33:11 The counsel of the LORD standeth for ever, the thoughts of his heart to all generations.

Mockery is part of the process – expect it!

God’s truth outlives every critic.

Β

TAKEAWAY FOR THE BODY OF CHRIST

Do not seek approval from men

Do not dilute doctrine to avoid offense

Follow Paul’s teaching without apology

Stand in grace, not works

Rightly divide the Word of truth to show thyself approved unto God

Β

Jude 1:18 How that they told you there should be mockers in the last time, who should walk after their own ungodly lust.

Jeremiah 15:17 I sat not in the assembly of the mockers, nor rejoiced; I sat alone because of thy hand: for thou hast filled me with indignation

2 Timothy 3:12 Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution
Mockery is expected.Grace is offensive to pride.God’s Truth endures forever.
Stand fast in sound doctrine. Let the Word of God speak – literally.

2 Thessalonians 2:15 Therefore, brethren, stand fast, and hold the traditions which ye have been taught, whether by word, or our epistle

1 Corinthians 16:13 Watch ye, stand fast in the faith, quit you like men, be strong
