INTRODUCTION

One of the greatest causes of doctrinal confusion in Christianity is baptism. Many assume all baptism in the Bible is the same—but Scripture reveals different baptisms for different peoples in different dispensations.  Water baptism belonged to Israel’s kingdom program Spirit baptism belongs to the Church, the Body of Christ. Failing to divide these leads to ritualism, works, and confusion.

 

① BAPTISM BELONGED TO ISRAEL

Matthew 3:5–6Water baptism was given to Israel under the Law and prophets.

③ BAPTISM BOUND TO WORKS

CONCLUSION
Water baptism was for Israel in connection with the kingdom.Spirit baptism is for the Church in connection with grace. Mixing them produces error. Dividing them produces clarity.
